There was a vibrant symphony across the office floor this Monday morning. The air hums with a palpable energy as students and faculty members weave through a maze of desks and computer screens, each person a unique expression of style in their attire. The click-clack of heels and the rustle of fabric punctuate the rhythmic chatter of conversations. Bulletin boards adorned with colorful sketches and fabric swatches compete for attention, while the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafts from a corner, providing a much-needed caffeine boost for the fashionistas in action. Amidst the organized chaos, creativity thrives, with design portfolios and sewing machines serving as constant reminders of the artistic endeavors that define this dynamic space.

Somewhere between the chaos and couture, Lacey found herself pacing the length of the floor to ceiling windows of her private office space. Sereia Van Durene, Lacey's best friend and business partner, sat tellingly by Lacy's desk, head tilted and arms crossed, giving her friend an unyielding glare. There had still been no luck in finding a spark or any further developments in her newest collection, or so she thought. Countless nights over the past gruelling four days would Lacey stay up sketching anything that came to mind, although none of it she deemed as good enough for business. The uphold of her reputation and career had never been at such a standstill before, as ideas seemingly used to spill straight out of her and onto paper.

She was aiming for something huge, something never before achieved in the fashioning world. Truth be told, her previous collections and unparalleled designs had already gotten her the status of being a pioneer, but being an avid overachiever and having such detrimental determination, she was confident that she would be able to pull another great originality out of the box and impress those who were watching her.

The business and best friend duo of Lacey La Raine Laurent and Sereia Augustine Van Durene was publicly acknowledged and notoriously renowned for their unstoppable work ethic and partnership. Lacey would design and manufacture the garments, in which Sereia would organise shoots and hire models to promote the pieces. Gaining public recognition, their productions piqued the interest of many extravagant luminaries throughout California. Working with higher end personalities entailed that their work would be more widely spread, and soon enough word travelled and allowed them a heavier audience and flow of wanting customers.

"Lace, you gotta' stop overthinkin' it. The more you deep it, the harder it'll be." Sereia asserted, in an attempt to dispel her disheartened best friend from dragging up anymore frustration.

Lacey stopped in her tracks, turning to face Sereia, wailing her arms to each side of her in hopelessness. "I've been trying Sereia. But the gala is in less than two weeks, and I've got nothing. In that time I have to actually come up with something, make the clothes, select our models, shoot for the magazine, and then actually attend. I've left it so last minute, I don't think it's physically possible."
