"cheers!" you yelled excitedly as everyone clinked their beer glasses together.
"i don't mean this in a rude way, but is there any particular reason you're so happy tonight n/n?" itadori said looking at you confused, he wasn't used to seeing you a normally unreadable character so excited.
"yeah, it's strange" megumi agreed.
"uh, duh? because the company is finally shutting down! we wont have to work at this bullshit place anymore!" you giggled before taking a big gulp of the beer you had ordered.
there was a long pause before nobara snorted then cleared her voice and spoke up, "n/n, babe the company isn't shutting down—"
"you're lying!" and there was a moment of silence
"you're not actually being serious... right? right?" you said panicking when you realised the group were all staring at you with deadpanned expressions.
they were serious.
"f/n did you not read the sign outside the building?" megumi sighed into his palm.
"of course i did i'm not stupid!" you screeched, did he really think you were stupid?
"did ya read all of it?" itadori said while wolfing down his meal making a huge mess, making nobara stare at him disgustedly.
the brunette harshly smacked the boy on the back of his head, "stop eating like a pig i don't want people staring at us"
"sorry nobara..." he apologised and slowed down his eating.
"okay, maybe i only read the first line and got so excited i went straight home..." you spoke referring to how you only read the first line of the poster on the door of your workplace. it said 'shutting down' in bold at the top and you'd assumed the company was finally kicking the bucket.
"aha! that's why you have no clue, if you read the whole thing you'd know that all employees of our branch were sent an email explaining what happened..." nobara said pointing a fork at you.
"so are you going to explain to me what happened or—" you were suddenly cut off
itadori happily perked up "i'll explain what happened!"
