Jungkook slipped an expensive silver laptop into his backpack.
He looked around, smirking. He was the leader of a Mafia gang with six other members who were also his best friends.
Jimin, Jin, Hobi, Yoongi, Tae, and Namjoon were stuffing diamond rings, gold pendant necklaces, and pretty bracelets into their bags. Namjoon hissed, "That's good enough to get at least one thousand dollars, no more or we won't be able to carry it." The six of them jumped out the window.
Jungkook took one last look at the room, with its warm green walls, looked over the balcony, and hissed to the others, "Hey, I'm staying here a bit longer. Go on without me."
Jimin nodded and they ran down the street.
Jungkook turned, tears in his eyes. He may be the cold leader of a mafia gang, and harsh CEO of Jeon Corp, but he didn't have a family. His father, at home, was a drunkard, abusive. His mother was dead. He was alone in life.
Why couldn't he have a home like this? The person who lived here was obviously well loved. Downstairs, he could hear a girl's voice laughing with her sibling.
Jisoo A/N POV
Irene grinned. "Bye Jisoo! See you next time."
Jisoo smirked. "Yah, if you promise not to blow the house up. Bye Irene!"
Jisoo waved as Irene left. She sighed. "I wish Mom was still alive..." Jisoo was twenty three, and Irene was twenty eight. Their mother was single, and she'd died as soon as Jisoo was born. Their kind aunt had taken them in, and now they'd moved out.
She walked to a quiet, candlelit corner, where her mother's portrait was. "Hey, mom, how're you?" she said, smiling sadly. "I miss you. I just graduated college last month, remember?" she yawned. "I'm tired. G'night, Eomma!"
Jisoo walked upstairs, her footsteps soundless.
And then she saw him.
Jungkook A/N POV
Jungkook's eyes fell on a framed photo of a girl, with waist length brown hair dyed red at the tips, a slender, lean body, and warm brown eyes.
He dropped his backpack and picked the photo up.
She's so pretty... Is this her bedroom?
He stared at the photo for such a long time, so focused on it, that he only snapped out of his trance when the lights flicked on.
"Who're you?"
Jisoo A/N POV
She opened the door, and then there was this guy, just standing there, smiling as he looked at her framed photo.
Who is he? Why the crap is he looking at my photo?"
He looked handsome from the side profile, but how could she be sure that he wasn't dangerous?
So she just did something stupid.
"Who're you?"
A/N POV
Jungkook whipped his head around. Standing in the doorway, looking at him curiously, was the same girl from the photo.
But she was looking at him curiously, not looking scared.
Unfazed, Jungkook replied, "I'm Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook."
"Jungkook..." Jisoo said. "I'm Jisoo."
Then her eyes fell on his backpack, which had her laptop peeking out from it. "Were you stealing from me?" Jisoo demanded.
Jungkook shrugged. "It's what I do to stay alive."
Jisoo's angry gaze softened. "You... you're a long way from home, aren't you?"
Jungkook, surprised by this girl's gentleness rather than her anger, simply said, "Duh."
Jisoo sighed. She walked over to one of her own paintings hanging on the wall, flipped it up, and revealed a silver square on the wall. She put in a code and the square swung open. Inside were stacks and stacks of ten thousand dollar bills. She pulled one of the stacks out and handed it to him. "Take this."
"What?" Jungkook spluttered. "Why aren't you just calling the police? Why are you giving me money?"
Jisoo shrugged. "You're lost. Not physically, but in life. That's why you steal from people, isn't it?"
Jungkook pushed the cash back at her. "I can't take it."
"Yeah, you can." Jisoo said. She studied the carpet. "Six others in here. Split this with them. One million each."
"How did you know that they were in here?"
"I'm studying to be a spy. It's my job to know things."
Jungkook took the cash. His gang needed it.
"Hey," Jisoo said quietly. "Can you do me a favor?"
Jungkook listened. Jisoo continued. "My archnemesis, plural, Saeron, Sana, and Tzuyu, are my rivals in the spy business. We work for the same company, but people are always comparing me to those three, because I work solo and they are a group. The people at BRIGHTSPRK are always saying that they're better, though, because the three of them all have boyfriends, so they're better. Their boyfriends are ugly as crap, though. I need you to pose as my fake boyfriend."
Jungkook gaped. "I can't."
Jisoo smirked. "I didn't call the police on you for stealing, Jungkook, I can also take that money back as easily as I gave it to you. Besides, I'll give stuff to you and your group. Homes, friends, money. What do you say?"
Jungkook swallowed, and made what would be the best decision of his life. "I'll do it. But once I leave, we'll never see each other again." The thought made his heart sink.
"I'll find you. I always find people. Now go." Jisoo gave him a push towards the door.
I hope you will. I hope you'll find me again, Kim Jisoo. Because I need you.
