Seun-gi:
As the day went on, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was different. Sin Jihye's warm smile and playful demeanor lingered in my mind. She had been more approachable lately, and that kiss on the cheek she gave me hadn't gone unnoticed. It was as if the universe was playing tricks on me.
After school, Sin Jihye and I gathered at the rice cake stand. It was a cozy spot where she often met to chat and enjoy her favorite snacks. We sat around a small table, and I couldn't help but notice Sin Jihye's radiant smile as she engaged in our conversation as Hee-jin walked by.
"Jihye, how's everything with Bon-Hwa?" Hee-Jin asked, genuinely curious.
Sin Jihye's eyes sparkled as she spoke, "It's been surprisingly wonderful. He's been more attentive, and last night, he surprised me with a promise ring. Can you believe it?" She held up her hand to show us the delicate piece of jewelry.
"That's amazing, Jihye!" I exclaimed, genuinely happy for her. My heart skipped a beat when our eyes met. For a moment, it felt like it was just the two of us at the table.
Hee-Jin, who became the observant one, glanced between us with a knowing smile. "Seun-gi, aren't you lucky to be friends with such an incredible girl?" she teased, nudging him.
Seun-gi blushed and stammered, "Yeah, I'm really lucky."
I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as I see Bong-hwa walking towards. I cared about Sin Jihye deeply, but something was holding me back. Maybe it was the fear of ruining our friendship or the feeling that I needed to protect her from potential heartache. I don't trust Bon-hwa at all.
Yeo-sin:
Watching Hyun-Seok and Hee-jin's interactions made me more determined than ever to make my move. They had chemistry, but Hyun-Seok was hesitating, and I couldn't let that opportunity slip away. As the afternoon sun dipped below the horizon, I approached Hyun-Seok with a plan in mind.
"Hey, Hyun-Seok, can I talk to you for a moment?" I asked, trying to sound casual.
He nodded and followed me a few steps away from the others. "What's up, Yeosin?"
I took a deep breath, gathering my courage. "Look, I've noticed something between you and Hee-jin. There's this undeniable connection, and it's clear that you both care about each other. But, you know, sometimes you've got to take a leap of faith."
Hyun-Seok furrowed his brows, clearly perplexed. "What do you mean, Yeosin?"
"I mean, don't let fear hold you back," I urged. "Life is too short to wonder 'what if.' If you have feelings for her, just go for it. You never know where it might lead."
He seemed deep in thought for a moment, and then a small smile tugged at his lips. "Thanks, Yeosin. You're right. Maybe I've been overthinking things, but I just met her."
"Good!" I said, giving him a reassuring pat on the back.
Hyun-Seok turned and walked where Hee-jin was sitting. I watched from a distance as he engaged her in conversation, his eyes filled with a newfound determination. Maybe, just maybe, this wasn't so bad after all.
Agma:
As I watched Hyun-Seok and Hee-Jin, my heart sank, which is weird to me. I do not care about this girl at all. Yeosin's words to him had pushed him into action, and I couldn't deny the connection between them. But what about me? I had to find a way to make Hee-jin see me in a different light, but wait why do I even care?
Determined to prove myself that she is just a meaningless person, I spent the following weeks becoming the best version of myself. I focused on my studies and even started working out to build confidence. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I was willing to do whatever it took to take my mind off of this mere mortal.
