Laptop out, keys clicking away smoothly and speedily, you stare at the direction of your screen's bright radiating blue light as you sit in the campus' study room focusing on your latest assignment.

It lingers in the back of your mind, knowing that at some point, your dream of becoming a dancer had just suddenly fled and disappeared as you grew to gradually lose interest through multiple people seeing you as a disappointment and a failure - you were a woman who thrives on praise and failure was just not enough. Your family's public title was incredibly important to your mother and father considering they were founders of a Korean luxury clothing brand. So, there you were writing your latest paper on the principle of autonomy in a prestigious medical university you were enrolled in by your parents.

You let out a soft sigh of frustration.

"Is something wrong Nayeon?" a high-pitched, bubbly voice asked from beside you. It was your best friend Cece who had stuck by you through your endless period of doubt and despair; she glanced at you with her eyebrows slightly raised to indicate her confusion.

"Yeah, everything's fine - don't worry about me!" you plastered your fake smile as you avoided contact and continued working. Cece knew this wasn't the truth, but knowing you, she turned her head and proceeded to continue watching the new episode of 'Street woman fighter 2" whilst you worked on your essay.

"Naya unnie!!" you heard some younger year girls shouting as they entered the study hall "Is this you or not?" They held out their phone, panting as if they ran from one side of the university to the other (which they probably did considering they were all dance majors who were located in a different area). The photo in question was one that resurfaced on twitter and instagram of the most popular dancer in Korea, Bada Lee after she recently went on the show SWF2 with her team BEBE; It was a picture of her before she rose in popularity.

"Naya unnie," the girls all repeated "Look at this photo and tell me that isn't you."

You paused for a second, unable to speak as fond but faint memories flooded your mind. Staring aimlessly at the photo, you slowly shook your head, lying to the girls, as you started to recognize yourself posing in the arms of a taller, older individual with a pout on your face and a wide smile on theirs. Still looking at the photo, you smiled seeing the long haired girl's bright beam, taking you back to the night the photo was taken...

Start of flashback

"Hey, Bada, come back here! Give that back!" You laughed as you chased her through the streets of your hometown back in Korea "That's the last piece of tteok - I was saving it!" you said as you tried to catch up to her - your breath slowly running out. Bada stopped, allowing you to catch up to her as you then attempted to jump and reach up to her extended arm to grab the food. She held onto your lower waist with her free hand trying to stabilize you just in case you'd fall onto the ground.

"This," she pauses, "is mine." she stared at you lustfully for a second, making you stop and wonder whether or not she was talking about you... or the last piece of tteok-bokki.

In a sudden spark, the world stopped around you and all you could think about was her clear, glowing skin, her rose-petal tinted lips and her dark, sparkling brown eyes staring back at you with her hand still glued to your back; unconsciously, you looked her up and down, then right back into her eyes and with that, she laughed playfully knowing her comment made you flustered as she popped the tteok in her mouth, tilted her head to the side and starting chewing aggressively on purpose in the attempt to get you annoyed. Bada's sly smirk was all that was needed to get you blushing in the shade of a tomato.

"BADA." your face flushed in embarrassment "that was mine!" you said as you started to pout, folding your arms and glaring up at her sarcastically. A sideways smile slowly rising upwards once again, Bada chuckled as she pulled out her phone and took a picture. "You look like an angry baby." she then glanced in your direction, her gaze directed at your lips.

"Who's my angry baby?" She cooed at you jokingly as she pulled your cheek smiling down at you

"Who's my angry baby?" She cooed at you jokingly as she pulled your cheek smiling down at you.

"Whatever." you mumbled jokingly, still acting upset over the stolen food in hopes that she'd give you more affectionate attention. Noticing your attitude, Bada grabbed your hand softly, taking it out of its folded position, and slowly interlocked her fingers with yours. Her hands were larger and much colder than yours but just holding hands with Bada felt like a warm hug.

"Don't be mad, I bought you more knowing you'd want some." Bada laughed as she pulled out a smaller bag of tteokbokki from her baggy cargo trousers that she had bought from the stand earlier (while you weren't looking). Those particular cargo trousers were ones that Bada adored and you were especially fond of them too considering they were the cargos you gifted her almost 2 years ago.

Bada happily handed over the small bag of tteok. "Thank you thank you thank youuuuu," you hummed in excitement smiling up at the figure next you. It wasn't the first time Bada had gone out of her way to surprise you with small gestures, in fact, ever since you met Bada had left you astounded with flowers, sweets and delivered takeout. It always made your heart flutter, it felt like a swarm of a million butterflies in your stomach. Though your label with Bada was 'just friends', it felt like something bigger than friendship.

"Anything for you" she whispered quietly, almost embarrassed, whilst shrugging her shoulders cooly "Maybe tomorrow you can treat me with some iced coffee?" Bada pulled you closer into her by your waist as the breeze blew past you, your hair covering your face as she turned her head towards you and smiled; Bada lifted her fingers and slowly swiped away the pieces of hair, tucking it behind your ear so it wouldn't be distracting when you eat your food.

Both of you laughed into the distance, talking about how practice went at the studio that day, what you both would plan on doing tomorrow and some funny stories you had saved for her to listen to. Bada always walked you home from training and everyday it would feel just as fun but little did you know, that this life of endless happiness would come to a halt.

From meeting everyday to meeting never, from speaking everyday, to speaking never, both you and Bada had no idea what was going to happen.

END OF FLASHBACK.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Sooo... this isn't you?" the girls asked suspiciously, zooming into the girl on the left of Bada. "Nope, no clue" you shrugged, glancing at Cece who you could see was holding in her laughter. You kicked her foot from under the desk as a sign to keep it together.

"Well, you heard her" Cece spoke abruptly "Now don't you have work to do? Go run along and practice!"
