"Thank you,"Myla whispered sitting in Klaus lap
After last night once Caroline was okay she thanked Myla before leaving and Myla convinced Miracle that she would be okay and that if she needed to leave she could. Miracle after talking with her for a moment did end up leaving after receiving over theory phone calls from someone and she needed to go meet up with them. Right now bored out of her mind trying to ignore the fact that her friend less than ten feet away from her was dead she sat in Klaus lap refusing to let him kiss her. She continued to tell him it would be weird to kiss not only in her siblings' house but in front of his brother's corpse. She did let him steal one kiss as a thank you for not being an asshole and saving Caroline.
"How long is this barrier supposed to be up?"She asked looking around
"However doesn't matter the second its down I'll be ripping all their heads off,"
"You promised no killing,"
Klaus rolled his eyes at playing with her hair and then reached over grabbing something and handing it to her.
"Oh,"She whispered, opening the book up.
"She ripped out the one page she didn't want you looking through "She did leave a barrier spell though,"
Myla opened the book to see a bunch of sticky notes next to certain spells that had translated them into english. She saw a small note fall out when she flipped to the next page.
*I translated a few more spells. If you every one to verbally say them you do have to say it in this language but with the translation you still understand it* - Love Miracle ps don't be stupid.
.
.
.
Myla had been sitting around while Klaus refused to sit. He was getting antsy being forced to stay in one place and Myla was using this time to learn a few new things. She was interrupted with her readings when she heard the door open. Why didn't they just leave him alone if they'd stop provoking him he'd stop killing. One of these days she's not going to be able to convince him or in all honesty want to. She looked over to see Caroline and Tyler walking in holding something. She assumed it was the sword she remembered early when she had woken up before Caroline left. Something was mentioned about the sword. When Caroline was gone Klaus told her to take the spell of it she wasn't sure how to at first but tried her best and it must have worked. She was unsure on why he even wanted her to undo the spell but she figured he knew something she didn't.
"Well if it isn't little orphan Lockwood. Come to show how laughably imotent you are against me?''Klaus watched them walk in.
"I'm just trying to help my friends find the cure,"He walked over to the table "Found this in your attic,"Tyler said pulling out the sword
Klaus looked over to Myla "What you said uncover it not replace it,"she mumbled going back to her book.
"And you think finding the sword brings you closer to the cure?"
"You tell me. I was playing around with the handle on the ride over and I found this,"he said, uncovering a piece of the sword.
Klaus walked closer looking at the handle of it " and what do you think this is?"
"It's called a crytex,"
Myla looked up from her book looking over at Caroline.
"The Da Vinci codes?"Myla questioned
Everyone looked over at Myla confused "What? It's in this book I remember reading about it," She whispered, now shy everyone was looking at her and scooted away to go back to reading.
"You know how to use it?"Caroline asked.
"Myla's not here right now,"She mumbled embarrassed, wishing she never opened her mouth.
"Myla please,"
Myla shook her head burying her face in the book blocking them all out wishing she wasn't there. Caroline quickly walked past Klaus going over to Myla and sitting next to her.
"Please Myla if you can help with understanding it this I promise Tyler wont cause an trouble with Klaus,"
"I didn't promise that,"
"Tyler!"Caroline yelled at him.
She hesitated for a moment and looked over at Tyler and then over to Klaus. Maybe she could be useful for once.
"You have to turn the different sides to match up the different symbols. When you do that you can get the translations on the other side," Myla looked over to Klaus and then back to Caroline "I'm guess the tattoos you've been talking about is how you can find the code,"
"Great,"Caroline stood up walking back over to Tyler "With the magic of the internet, Elena sent over these,"She held up photos of Jeremy's tattoos. "So now all we have to do is cryptex away,"She said sitting down and then looking at Klaus "if you happened to want to help, we wouldn't stop you,"
"Right well, might I suggest using the magic of the internet to purchase an aramaic-to-english dictionary from you nearest retailer,"
"What's aramaic?"Tyler questioned
"It's a dead language,"Myla whispered. "Even if you find a dictionary you wouldn't be able to translate it correctly unless it's from someone who actually knows it,"She said looking through her book.
When she first started looking through her mothers books she realized none of it made sense or even looked right. When she showed it to Klaus and he knew it right away she figured it must have just been an old language but the further she went into actually learning these spells and Miracle translated them she quickly put two and two together that her mother chose this on purpose so it would be hard for just anyone to read. Miracle once told her that some of the spells were ones her mom created and she didn't want others to easily use it. It wasn't necessarily an old language, it was a language way before Klaus was even born. At this point in time not many really knew it.
"It could take you days to translate, perhaps weeks,"Klaus said, sitting next to Myla taking the book out of her hands. "In bas so-teen-too Ara-ma-eet,"
"What does that mean,"
"If only you spoke aramaic,"
.
.
.
Myla quietly listened to them as they figured out how to turn around the cryptex. She was more zoned in on her book specifically barrie spell. She didn't trust she could just do it but she did trust that if she tried hard enough she would be able to do it with the spell but she wasn't exactly saying it correctly. While they were distracted she had tried the spell multiple times and failed multiple times.
"Bas -seembe seles be hada ebesca edrruer-man,"Klaus whispered
Myla looked up from her book looking over at the three.
"What does it mean?"Caroline asked
He of course only smirked at her
"Klaus what does it mean?!"
"Flower,"Klaus whispered
"The only thing I picked up on was one,"She mumbled "Which must mean there's only one dosage of the cure,"
.
.
.
.
"You can't help but cause trouble can you?" Myla asked, sitting at the edge of the barrier book in hand.
Myla pushed both her hands against the barrier and she closed her eyes doing her best to keep her breathing under control. She pushed against the barrier before saying a few words under her breath. After a moment of saying the words she didn't feel anything but when she went to move her hands off she fell over.
"Oh my god?"She whispered
She slowly stood up walking on the other side of what was the barrier. "Oh my god,"She whispered a huge smile coming over her face
"I did it. Klaus I-,"She looked up to see him still standing in front of her. Her face scrunched up confused "Did I do something wrong,"she squatted down picking back up the book. She looked through it, finding the same spell.
"No, miracle only translated one part,"She said reading the sticky note. "Only the person casting it could push through. What kind of spell it that!"
"It's alright love only a few more hours till it comes down itself,"
Myla plopped on the ground laying her head in her palm as it rested on her knee. "I did all that for nothing,"
"Well angle you did learn your first spell on your own so I wouldn't say it's for nothing,"
"I mean It would be better if it brought the barrier down. I mean you would be able to leave and not stare at-"She stopped talking when she turned around to see Kol's body was still there "I mean-" She took in a deep breath.
"It's alright angel,"
She slowly nodded, taking her phone out dialing someone's number. "I'm gonna go call Miracle,"She explained before walking outside.
"Myla,"She looked up to see Tyler and Caroline sitting outside.
"Caroline?"
"How did you-"
"I used a spell but it didn't really work the way I wanted Klaus is still stuck if that's what your worried about,"
"Myla please talk to him?" Caroline pleaded walking up to her. "He's gonna kill Tyler,"
"Like how you tried killing him?" Myla asked
"Myla-"
"Don't Myla me Tyler. Again and Again you attempt to kill Klaus and then you're shocked when he attacks back. You never learn your mother almost died because of you-"
"I lost my mother because of you,"
"She's alive because of me! Everyone's alive because of me! Do you know how many times I've talked him out of killing someone. How long before I could care less if any of you die. None of you cared when I was killed countless times,"
"Myla please,"
"What if I don't want to help,"She whispered
Myla looked between the two before sighing and walking back inside. Slamming the door shut, walking in and plopping on the floor.
"Oh my god I hate this,"She whispered as her eyes filled with tears.
It wasn't fair for someone soon to be eighteen to have this much pressure on her. Finding out what she actually was and learning she is the only one of what she is. Being put in a position with an ungodly amount of power but still learning how and when to use it. The life of many people in her hands is uncontrollably and crazy emotions. Constantly dying and having to see others die. How was one person supposed to just handle all of this? Who the hell thought it was a good idea. She just wanted to go to sleep and never wake up. She didn't know how much more she could take. She looked up and looked over to Klaus. No matter how much she was angry at Tyler and how much he seemed to change towards her she didn't want him dead. But she also didn't want to end up sounding like the rest of them because she knew he was hiding a lot of pain behind the dead look expression he would give.
She stood up walking over to him while he was now sitting in one of the chairs staring off into space, probably overthinking things.
"Klaus,"She said softly, grabbing his attention.
He grabbed a hold of her hand pulling her down onto his lap wrapping his arms around her.
"Do you have to kill him?"
"Not only do I have to I want to,"
"The whole thing with his mom though erasing her memory so she would even forget existed. You said that would be enough,"
"You expect me to do nothing after all he talked about the past three days is how he wanted to kill me,"
"No I don't but-" She sighed looking down playing with the hem of her shirt. She honestly didn't know what to do. And did it make her a bad person that even if Klaus were to kill Tyler she wouldn't love him any less. She completely blamed this mating bond because she hated killing let alone the thought of it. She thought of it as something unforgivable but she just didn't feel that way with him.
"I don't wanna lose anymore people. I can't take it. I didn't know Kol very long but when I saw the fire and Elena standing there I-I completely lost myself. I don't think I could handle losing anyone else. I'm. I'm just scared,"
"Tell him to leave town. Now. Tell him to go to a place I would never find him,"
Myle looked up at Klaus with her tear stained face.
"You tell him to run,"
Myla quickly stood up but before she walked out Klaus spoke "You tell him this is his head start before I kill him," She froze in her spot before nodding her head and walking outside.
She walked out slowly, closing the door behind her before slowly looking over to the two.
"Tyler-"She could only really get one word out before choking on her words and sobbing.
She walked over to the two sitting between them as he pulled her into a hug.
"I'm so sorry,"she cried.
She knew she didn't have to actually say anything because obviously they all heard what Klays had said. But it hurt, it hurt like hell to see someone she considered family, probably the first every friend she made have to leave. She felt guilty that she wasn't angry at Klaus but that she wasn't able to do anything else or that she really wanted to. Before Klaus and of course besides her mother Tyler was the only one who accepted Myla for everything that she was and the things that made her happy, of course excluding Klaus but it was still better than most did. She was losing her best friend but she knew it was better than him being dead. So she sucked it up and put on a smile and let the couple be alone.
.
.
.
Myla laid in the middle of the floor of the Mikaelson mansion. She stared off into space as the floor around her was covered in black roses. Klaus had left her alone with the necklace as she said she wanted to stay by herself and once Elena and Jeremy got back she would go see them. It was taking everything in her to not lose control Klaus told her she wasn't allowed to contact Tyler in any way that he could track. Which in a sense she could send letters secretly but would be impossible if she didn't know where he was. She sighed as she sat up looking out the window as it was eventually the next day. She was waiting on a text from Elena or Jeremy when they got back. Stefan messaged her that they were on their way back but that was a while ago. Like she had been waiting for all day she got a message from Elena that they had finally made it back. Quickly she sat up changing into jeans and loose t-shirt before making her way over to the gilbert house texting Klaus where she would be.
.
.
.
.
She walked into the house to see Matt standing at the bottom of the stairs with a stiff face.
"Hi Matt, is Jeremy upstairs?"She asked, barely even making it half way.
"Myla there's something you should know,"
.
.
"Someone just get me bonnie!" Elena yelled, being held back by Stefan.
"Elena,"Matt said, grabbing her attention then moving out of the way showing Myla.
Myla looked at Elena and then her eyes shifted over to Jeremy.
"Lana,"She whispered as her eyes started to water and her breathing picked up.
"No. No. Myla. It's okay. It's okay,"She quickly walked over to her pulling her into a hug "He's fine,"She slowly pulled Myla over to Jeremy "This ring it'll save him it's has twice before,"
"Elena-"Stefan started to say
"He's fine! Myla he's okay,"She whispered, holding tightly onto her. "It's gonna be okay it just takes time,"
Myla stood there holding onto Elena. Elena was her only hope at this moment. She was losing her family one by one and the thought of losing Jeremy rattled her sense of thinking. The worst part was a part of her could sense he was dead but she was willing to hold onto any false hope if it kept her sane
.
.
.
Elena ended up going downstairs but Myla chose to stay next to Jeremy and she said she was going to wait until he woke up. She wanted to be right there the second she knew he was okay. She had stayed there for a while softly talking to him when Stefan walked in. She was still slightly jumpy around him but she figured he wouldn't do anything right now.
"Myla, you know we dont-"
"Elena said it would work,"She sharply cut him off.
She didn't know much about this ring but she had only really heard Klaus talk about it once. She didn't trust Elenas words very much so to make sure she messaged Miracle asking her about it and she confirmed that such a ring did exist and did work. So she trusted that everything was okay. She remembered how she had died for two days and was completely fine and she didn't need a ring so if this ring would revive him she trusted it and she would wait.
"Myla please-"
"I-i-i'd like to be alone please. I-im just..I'm just gonna stay here with him so he doesn't get lonely,"She whispered, holding his hand.
"Myla,"
Myla quickly turned around to see Elijah and Miracle in the doorway. If anyone can make Myla think level headed it's one of the two.
"Elijah, Wh-what are you doing here?"She sniffed, whipping her tears standing up and walking over to him.
He pulled her into a hug looking over to Miracle. Miracle nodded before walking over to Jeremy's body. Pulling the blanket down to look at the ring on his hand. Myla sighed looking at stefan "This was the hunter?'
"Yes,"
"Myla, why don't you show me that place you were talking to me about that one day,"Miracle smiled, walking over to her and grabbing her hand.
Miracle knew the second she walked in he was dead and she knew how much Jeremy meant to Myla. This was going to destroy her.
"But Jeremy-"
"Is okay right now sitting here and doing nothing isn't gonna help okay. Come on,"She pulled the girl out of the room and downstairs.
.
.
.
"Why am I in the middle of the muddy woods,"Miracle mumbled
"Because someone you care about is going through something," Elijah explained "Admit you care for the girl,"
"I'm just keeping her from burning the whole town down. Once she finds out she's not gonna be able to control it," Miracle said, watching the girl who was now sitting in the middle of the water.
"Klaus has to be the one to tell her. I don't think she'll be able to handle it if anyone else does,"
"Did you call him,"
"I did, he's on his way but I figured it's best to wait cause the second she comes to terms with it she'll be begging for that spell,"
"That piece of paper you ripped up?"
"Mhm spells to her really don't matter but she's not in place where she full understands that which is good cause she also refuses to understand that there can still be consequences,"
"Where is she,"
Both originals turned around to see Klaus walking up to them. Miracle nodded her head over to the girl who was for some reason sitting in a river fully clothed. Klaus walked past the two walking over to the edge of the river squatting down.
"How think she's gonna take it,"
"This could go two ways she either shuts down and turns off her humanity but I doubt Klaus would want that her humanity and emotions make her who she is she cuts that off she stops being herself or she shuts down another way and ignores it and acts like it never happen,"
.
.
"Myla,"Klaus whispered, grabbing her attention.
"Oh Klaus,"She smiled looking up from the water "I grew these to help when Jeremy woke up. I didn't feel to good when I had woken up from being.....asleep for so long so hopefully these will help him,"She pulled her hand out of the water pulling out peppermint "These usually help with stomach aches and headaches ,"
"Myla Jeremy-"
"He's gonna be okay. He has to be,"She insisted, putting her hands back in the water growing another plant.
"Myla the ring only works on those who are human. Jeremy was a hunter which made him supernatural no longer human-"
"But I mean Elena said that everything would be okay. Everything has to be okay right. I-I can't lose my brother. Klaus I can't,"
Her breathing started to pick up and her eyes welled up with tears. Slowly the water around her started to freeze up as she was losing control of her breathing.
"Myla, you need to breathe. You lose control over your magic your not gonna be helping anyone,"
"Oh my god," she sat there for a moment staring at the water before she shot up "Miracle,"
She looked over to where she thought Miracle was but apparently she had already left. She got out of the water reaching over and grabbing her bag to call Miracle.
"She won't answer. I have to find the book,"
.
.
.
"No where are they," Myla looked through her box of things looking everywhere for her mothers books.
"Miracle has them. She said she thought it be best to take them away until you in the right mind,"
"What! No Klaus, I need those books. This is my brother I'm about to lose and you want me to do nothing. Are you crazy!"
"Myla-"
"No I don't wanna hear it!"Yelled pushing pass him
"Where are you going,"
"Like you care," .
.
.
"Come on Elena,"
She didn't feel like driving so she had ended up walking to the gilbert house but Elena wasn't answering. It was getting late and she was trying to call her and let her know that she could and would fix everything. She didn't care about the consequences, what could be worse than losing her brother. Tyler was gone, Miss Lockwood was gone, her mom was dead, Kol was dead, Jenna was dead, her worst nightmare was back she couldn't lose Jeremy. She sighed as she walked up the road to her old house when she saw Elena walking with Stefan and Damon.
"Elena is Jeremy okay I think I can help-"
"Myla he's dead,"Elena bluntly said
"I know that now..... but I'm saying I can help,"
"Give it a rest Myla he's gone move on,"
"What-"
She looked at Elena before looking at the two brothers behind her, both of their faces suddenly filled with concern. She looked at the three before something caught her attention.
"What the hell,"Myla yelled as she saw one of her childhood homes burn down.
"Oh my god Elena! Jeremy's In there,"
Myla bursted into tears as Elena just looked at her and Damon stopped her from walking any closer to the house.
"Damon let go of me!"
"Myla you need to calm down,"
Tears streamed down her face as she watched the house burn into flames and her being near the flames and not controlling her emotions wasn't helping any. She honestly was just making things worse.
"No,"She pushed Damon off her and walked over to Elena ''What the hell Elena! You're just gonna let it happen. I came over to help. How am I supposed to help if you burn the place down! You don't care to save Jeremy?"
"I don't care about anything Myla. I don't feel anything and it feels......great. Mom's dead, dad's dead, Jenna's dead, Jeremy is dead, why would anyone want to stay there. You should try it Myla,"
"Are you insane,"
"Just turn it off Myla,"
"Elena stop,"Damon interrupted
"What Damon? You want her to live a sad and depressed life; she barely has any family left. Turn it off Myla,"
"Turn what off Elena you're scaring me,"She backed away
"Your humanity just turn it off,"
Myla looked at Elena confused and then she looked over to her home that was burning to the ground. Elena was right she didn't really have any family left and she felt sick to her stomach right now. Her head was pounding and she was having trouble breathing. Turn your humanity off. If she turned it off she wouldn't have to worry about the pain, she wouldn't have to worry about the sleepless nights, she wouldn't fear her dad, she wouldn't miss everyone she had lost, no more anxiety, no more losing control of her magic.
"Okay,"She whispered as her eyes went dull.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Yay two updates in one day!! Anyways this is kinda edited but still needs work but I hope you enjoy it and I do want to explain that Myla's humanity being of is a huge thing and will be a huge character flip. Even though I never fully showed how close Jeremy and Myla are losing Jeremy is a way bigger deal to Myla than most would think. Which I also know technically your humanity doesn't change who you are but with Myla her humanity literally makes her who she is so taking that away just means she doesn't care to keep her opinions to her self and isn't scared to stand up for herself and she will definitely be bitchy and mean but to be fair after what they have done to her she deserves to be mean.
