an hour later, the doc walks over to the group, a sour look on her face. eddie got to his feet.

"richie tozier?" the lady asked.

"yes, yes how is he?!" eddie rushed.

she swallowed. "please excuse me for the words that i'm about to say."

"what.." stan whispered.

"i'm sorry for your loss.." she said to eddie sadly. the boy just started collapsing, yelling out as he burst into tears and fell to his knees. his own world, his own boy, just took a crashing.

the entire group started to cry, beverly holding eddie on the floor as they both cried hard. bill turned to stan and shoved his face into his shoulder, crying shakily as they hugged. mike wrapped his arms around ben as well, comforting him as the two of them cried.

"it's my fault, i let it up," eddie whispered as he cried roughly, shaking in beverly's hug.

"no it isn't honey, it's not your fault," she mumbled to him, breaking down into sobs as well.

the doctor left with a sad face, going back the figure out the next move in richie's sad passing.
(a/n: sry fym 'next move' bb hes dead 😭)

the losers stayed at the hospital for a bit, comforting each other and letting richie's parents know. they rushed over, maggie bawling her eyes out and wentworth refusing to look at anyone, in denial of it.

the losers stopped showing up to school. they each informed their parents about it, who told the school, and word spread fast.

the news were buzzing around the campus, most laughing, some feeling incredibly guilty for being the cause of someone's suicide.

the funeral happened a week later, the group of what is now six showing up and being miserable. none of them had stopped crying ever since the tragedy.

as eddie went home the night of the funeral, he curled into a ball in his bed, wearing one of richie's hoodies and crying. he felt absolutely fucking miserable without the boy, and didn't know how to carry on without him.

and as he sobbed, the only thing he could think of was the promise. he sniffed, looked up at the stars outside of his window, and spoke to the boy above his head.

"baby, i thought you made a promise you would never cut."
