Superman and Darksteel stopped by the institute, where it was actually protected. A large force field surrounded the entire building. Superman had his hands on the shield, as he was able to force himself in through the other side. Darksteel took out his armblade, and was able to cut through it, just enough to come through.

Both went through, and landed on the ground. They both stood up straight, until a voice called out to them from behind.
