Jungkook read all the twitter updates after working out and posting his naked back on weverse. What a great night, he thought, then proceeded to shower and get ready for dinner with Bangshit and TXT.
Bangshit was in high spirits at the barbeque place in NYC...and why not. TXT won a VMA and JK, his first award as a solo artist, just as he and Scooterfck predicted. He got a little annoyed a couple months ago when JK decided to take Tae to Inkigayo with him. He definitely gave JK an earful after that but thankfully this boy listens. So now they're celebrating. Seven is still number one on the global charts after 8 weeks. This is Bangshit's dream for JK.
BTS are global superstars but with military enlistment, the company had to make sure the money keeps coming in. They had to be creative. The solo projects have been successful so far, but Bangshit & Scooterfck knew that JK will be a massive success in the West. He will take the world by storm...and will be their golden ticket to the equivalent of Willy Wonka's factory: Army.
Taehyung's album got released on the same week as the VMAs, as well as the album release of international star, Olivia R. Wooga squad, Yumi and all the BTS members promoted Tae's album 'Layover', except for Yoongi and JK. Well, Yoongi has been missing and there were rumors that he already enlisted quietly. And JK must have been told by Bangshit to stay away from Layover since he was still in trouble for that Inkigayo incident.
Layover is by all accounts a successful album that sold over 2M copies on its first week. But it would have done better if it got the company's support. Instead, it had to deal with shipment delays and a lukewarm reaction from so-called ot7. It seemed like some forces were against its success which does not make sense at all because of the money Hybe would have made from it. The problem, though, is that Bangshit had favorites, and Tae is not it. Tae used to be rambunctious in his teens and got on a lot of people's nerves with his antics. Some inside people even felt like he was a bad influence on JK. 'Some people' including Bangshit and maybe even their leader. Why can't he be more like Jimin, the angel, who obeys all the rules with a smile.
Taehyung understood why JK couldn't support his album but their followers were disappointed, especially after Tae kept mentioning JK in his guestings. This was the first time in Taekook history that the relationship seemed blatantly one-sided. Over the years, taekookers witnessed the two supporting each other, being each each other's literal shoulder to cry on. The endless flirtations when they thought the cameras didn't capture them, the intimate touching and loving gazes they gave each other. Somehow, sadly, all this faded when JK's star shined brighter.

JK said this in his Suchwita guesting and it seems to be coming true. Everything happened so fast after that week. JK went to headline Global Citizen and was later nominated for the Grammys for best pop solo performace. He flew back to Seoul and was immediately thrown into an insane routine of guestings, recordings, photoshoots. Bangshit made sure he wouldn't have time to see Tae.
Tae wanted, no, needed, to see and talk to JK but could not get a hold of him. He was getting desperate but somehow got relieved that Bangshit spared him some time.
'Oh hi Taehyung. You wanted to see me?' Bangshit's tone was very nonchalant. He noticed the dark circles under Tae's eyes and concluded that it was because he made sure JK stays away from Tae. He doesn't want Tae to ruin the future of his golden maknae.
Tae noticed the cold treatment from Bangshit and his heart sank. He didn't even get a congratulations for his album but at the moment, that was the least of his worries.
He proceeded to speak 'Bangshit-nim, I would like to enlist in the military now. I want to go very quietly, please take care of it and make sure there are no announcements about it. I am actually going away for a bit, so when things are ready, please call my dad and he will relay the message to me. Thank you.'
Bangshit was very pleased with this news. Perfect timing, he thought and a big smile formed on his face. His first thought was that he will call Scooterfck and proceed with their plans for JK.
Taehyung slowly walked away. That wasn't what he intended to say.
Tae wanted to reach out to JK because he wanted to let him know that Yeontan passed away.
