Hey!

So I've noticed some of you read the prologue. then don't continue onto the first chapter. If you are one of these lovely people then can you write a short reason why? It could be a few words. I just would like to know what I can improve :)

Branches grabbed at my body and clothes as I ran through the trees. Scratches formed and blood oozed out of the cracks. I could here them behind me.

Run.

A low whisper broke the silence. A curse floated out of his lips. I could hear the menace, as the sky grew impossibly black.

Run.

I saw it, the light. It was so close, I was so close, but they were too close.

Run.

My eyes flew open and I jolted up in a bed. Beads of sweat rolled down my face and I could hear myself screaming. A woman ran in, panicked.

"She's awake!" The woman yelled. "It'll be fine dear." She cooed as she rushed to my side.

The world got fuzzy and I felt myself fall backwards as it blackened.

After what seemed like a few hours I was pulled back into the real world. I, Rose Hautange, have been in a coma for twelve years. No one can tell me what happened, but I can tell I was missed. I was told the people who lined up to see me were close friends and family, but none of the faces were familiar. As I was reintroduced, I started noticing subtle features that I remembered, but I was too overwhelmed to register any of them. As the days passed I started putting together the puzzle pieces of my life.

At the age of six I was found on the ground unconscious outside my home with no visible wounds. Upon examination they discovered a black spot in my brain that seemed to hinder its functions, but not damage it. The doctors were still examining it years later, because of its frantic movements. Surgery would've been too invasive, so I was instead watched 24/7 incase anything changed. Three days ago, on my eighteenth birthday, the spot disappeared and I woke up. The doctors are calling it a phenomenon. I have little recollection of my past, but the doctors assured me I would gradually regain my memory. I hope they are right.
