"Where are you off to?" Risa asked glancing up, "feeling like getting something from the food shop next street", Ethan replied putting on his bag. "Ah, get some for me too. I'll pay you back", Risa said and Ethan nodded.

"Oh and for me", "for me too", each person started to raise their hands and Ethan nodded counting and headed out of the office.

"Alright, here's my card", he said handing his ATM, the payment went through and he was handed the food. Walking out of the shop, he bumped into someone stumbling backwards but the meals were safe in his arms.

"Oh God, I am so sorry", he apologized as he made sure everything was okay and nothing spilled over, "Ethan?" The familiar voice startled him and Ethan gulped staring right into the eyes of his former love.

"David... How-how nice to see you again?" Ethan said hoping he could be allowed to pass by, "got that internship I see? Did they turn you into their little errand boy, ah!" David laughed crossing his arms. "Why are you looking at me like that? Are you still in love with me?" He hissed all of a sudden, shoving Ethan so hard the food fell and splattered all over the street floor. "No!" Ethan gasped.

"David, can you just fucking leave me alone!" Ethan groaned glaring at the boy who was a foot taller than him, "don't you fucking raise your voice at me homo", David growled and shoved the shorter boy harder so he would fall to the ground but Ethan fell onto someone's hard chest instead.

He was pulled behind that someone who held the collar of David's shirt. "Mister Xavier, what are you-", "if I ever see you near Ethan again, I will ruin your fucking sad life and make it even sadder", Xavier growled punching David's handsome face sending him flying a few feet away.

"Ah! Sir, I think that's enough", Ethan said holding his suit to stop him from approaching David, the blond was holding his cheek, blood coming out of his busted lip, he groaned in pain and struggled to get up.

"Come with me", Xavier said holding Ethan's arm, quickly they paid for another batch of food and put them all in Xavier's car.

"Th-thank you sir", Ethan said fidgeting with the strap of the seat belt, "if he ever troubles you again, tell me. Immediately ", Xavier said grabbing Ethan's hands. They were so small in his and very soft, his fingernails were kept so short, there was barely any nails on them at all.

"You don't need to worry about me, but thank you again", Ethan said as Xavier started the car and began heading back to the office, "what did you even see in that guy anyways?" He asked raising a brow.

"What?" Ethan creased a brow a little confused, "you had a crush on him, didn't you?" Xavier glanced at him. "Eh- how did you-", "you told me all about how heartbroken and ashamed you were", Xavier replied his unfinished question. "Gosh, was I that drunk?" Ethan asked cheeks red from embarrassment, "six bottles gone", Xavier replied. "Fuck".

"Pfft!" Ethan giggled out of no where surprising Xavier, who was at the same amused. "And what's funny?" He asked, "I'm so sorry for pretending to not know you during the interview, I was just so... Embarrassed", Ethan confessed still cringing everytime he remembered what he had said.

"Don't be, I've been really meaning to meet you", Xavier said pulling up in his private parking lot, "uh... Really?" Ethan questioned genuinely surprised. He would have honestly been okay with being forgotten, as he was essentially a nobody. Not someone a multi billionaire should be looking forward to seeing again, especially after passing out before they... Got down to it.

"Yes. I want to finish what we started", Xavier said taking off his seatbelt and leaned in, their faces were so close to each other and he really wanted those cute pink lips but Ethan pulled back wide eyed. "Are you crazy?! No offense boss, but we're at work. A-and we shouldn't be doing this, you're the freaking president and I'm just some... Some nobody ", Ethan said undoing his seat belt and unlocking his car.

"I don't care, go on a date with me", Xavier said with all seriousness, his ruby red eyes glistening and begging. 'So cute!' Ethan thought, he felt his heart thump loudly but he just couldn't fall for it. "I'm sorry, no",  he said getting out of the car. His wrist was held back and a box was placed in his car.

"You're the one sending the cakes?!" Ethan gasped staring at the familiar expensive box and then at Xavier, "I...", "I'm not taking it back, see you later", he said shutting the car door. Watching as that cute boy, that made his heart rate increase ten folds anytime he was near him, walk away. He groaned hitting his forehead on the steering wheel so it horned loudly.

"Fuck, I got rejected again".

•AN HOUR AND SOME MINUTES EARLIER•

"Adrien darling! What are you doing back here? Is the college on break already?" Niv asked receiving her nephew and her son who, for some reason, was hiding behind the big guy.

"Aunt Niv, I'm going to tell you something that might shatter you but just know it's not the end of the world and that there are other options. You have to listen to your son and hear out his reasons", Xavier said holding her shoulders, "what's wrong? What do I need to hear out? Adrien, did you do something wrong?" Niv asked smiling brightly at her son, who knew the real truth. 'I can sense murderous intent', he gulped coming forward.

"I dropped out of engineering school", he finally informed and Niv almost fainted, "Uncle Ed, come hold your wife so you don't lose a child!" Xavier said and the short man rushed to bundle his wife farther away from their son. "I'm s-sorry, but I did say I never wanted to do engineering. You forced me into it, I want to be an artist", his cousin said with a deep frown.

"How will being an artist make money, you want to beg on the streets like my father", Niv screamed, Xavier sighed understanding her fears. On his mother's side, they had gone through a rough life while growing up, living hand to mouth until they somehow completed college.
Aside from his mother who still loved their late father, Grandpa Yale, Aunt Niv never liked that her father never got a job, relying on odd jobs and painting other people at parks just to get by. He wouldn't work at a supermarket or a janitor in a school or some labour worker, just on the roadside advertising his paintings and saying that one day, they would get somewhere. And they never did.

"Look, if you're scared of him failing, I'll help him. I think I know some people in the art industry, he won't fail this time. I promise", Xavier said trying to make her see reason, he knew how hot headed Niv was and the first task at hand was to calm her down.

"Fuck... You're his older cousin, so you better know what you're doing. And you!" Niv glared at her son, "if you come back saying you quit again, I will skin you alive!" She gritted and Adrien got on his knees pledging his will to continue his passion and make it in the art industry.

"Damn... Thank you so much Xavier, I could already hear my coffin being made", Adrien sighed running his hands through his hair, "no problem for my favourite cousin. I'll put you in an art school nearby and speak to the vice chancellor there, he'll look after you", Xavier said earning a big thank you and a hug that almost send them out of their lane. "Hey! I'm driving", "s-sorry!"

After dropping Adrien at his house, he decided to go to the cake shop. Maybe if he gave it personally, he'll want to go out to him.

Once he had gotten the boxed slice of cake, he put it inside the car and was about to get inside when a little commotion across the street caught his attention.

"Ethan!"
