A text from Caleb. Great...

Caleb: I know you're engaged to that guy but I still want you. I'm sorry for breaking up with you. It was a mistake.

Cheater. Hopefully, this will be the last time we're in contact.

Alyssa: I'm happy now. It's you're fault you cheated and left me for a girl that sleeps around. You won't be getting another chance ever. Please stop trying to talk to me, I want nothing to do with you. I hope you find a happy ending that doesn't involve me.

He starts typing and then stops. Might as well block him- but what if he has an emergency and I'm the only person he can contact? I'll just leave it alone. Setting the tazer into its spot, my phone floats back onto the center console and I head home.

After getting back home, I lock my car and the groceries follow me into the house. I open the fridge door and they go on the top two shelves except the ground beef goes into the freezer drawer. Looking at the oven's clock. 8:17 a.m. I get the dishes to wash themselves and I dust off what needs it. Even with the small, irritating headache, I tend to my roses that surround the house. The bushes at the back of the house have roses varying in colors of white, blue, and black, they're personal favorites. I always start by picking off petals and leaves that have changed to any sort of brown. Wearing my worn and almost torn tan gloves, I do get several cuts on my arms from the many thorns. I remember a time when an ex-friend started a fire in my red rose bushes because she was an absolute nightmare that believed when her boyfriend said I tried to kiss him. Rayon luckily got home in time to put it out. He wanted to go after her but roses are not worth fighting over. He's never been the angry type, more protective and about justice more than a temper. I've moved to the orange, red, yellow, and pink rose bushes that start on the right of the house. At least she hasn't done anything else since the fire and since Rayon made it clear to her about her boyfriend's lying. I hope she's met the person meant to be her husband, someone that doesn't lie or cheat. After this interview, I'm going to lunch with some friends who have had interviews as well. Today is the last day to apply so hopefully I can be entered into the competition.

Finishing up the front, I dust off my clothes, I may or may not have some dirt marks that may or may not be visible on my skirt. I walk around the house and go in through the back door. Once the dishes are all done, the oven says 8:53 a.m. Oh chocolate sticks, I need to leave soon. My purse and keys are still in the car so I just need to freshen up a bit. I may be rushing while I check my makeup, still good but lacking my usual wings that I'd probably mess up. 8:57 a.m. I wipe off what dirt I can before heading out the door and locking it. I put the address into the car and start my forty-six-minute drive. Just have to avoid the Towan brothers once I get there.
