Void lifted her head when she saw a glimpse of green curls over the top of her computer, looking up just as Izuku walked into her office and closed the door behind him. "You look happy," she remarked, raising her eyebrows in curiosity. "I assume it went well?"Izuku gave a nod in response, ignoring her unspoken question about what exactly had happened. Instead, he fished out the cash he had gotten from the sale of information, ready to give her a portion for getting him the job, as was the usual, but she waved it off. He looked at her skeptically, both confused and intrigued as to why she was refusing their usual deal. Nevertheless, he slipped the cash back into his pocket, honestly welcoming the extra money.
"I already got paid for this job," Void explained, returning her attention to her computer screen. "It seems as though our client was also satisfied with the information you gave him."
"And who exactly is he?" Izuku asked, a little frustrated at that point for the lack of detail. Void was usually very specific about the jobs she gave him, it was the main reason he favored her over the other people giving out jobs. She was straightforward, and it made the jobs easier to complete. But now she decided to play coy?
Void looked over at him with an expression that made him groan. "Echo, you and I both know that whether I tell you or not, you're going to go digging and get more information on him than I can give you," she said, sounding simultaneously proud of his skill and smug for making him do all the work.
"I hate you," Izuku grumbled, knocking over her fake succulent with his pointer finger. "If he contacts you again for more info from me, just send him my number." Void nodded, still looking at her computer screen and typing away. "I'll comp you for it later."

Izuku dropped his bag next to his desk when he got back to his apartment, pulling off his gloves and setting them on the left side of his desk. He then took off his jacket and tossed it on his bed after taking the cash out of it, then walked to his fridge and opened it up. He sighed when he saw that he definitely needed to go shopping soon, then just took out an apple and set it on the counter.
Kneeling down next to the fridge, he carefully lifted the plank second from the wall and placed it down beside him before pulling the metal box out from under the plank third from the wall. He spun the small wheels until they read 0704, then held his right ring finger against the finger scanner. When it opened, he sorted the bills into their respective slots, counting them as he did. After closing the box and scrambling the numbers, he placed the box back into the floor, sliding it down it was under the right plank, then slid the last plank into place, running his hand over the floor to make sure it was put in right.
Grabbing his apple again, Izuku walked back over to his desk and opened his laptop. He opened a new tab, then pondered what to put in the search bar for a moment. Eventually he decided on 'red and white haired male hero'. He facepalmed when he saw the name and a portrait style picture of the man. He felt immensely stupid.
"What the hell is wrong with me?" he groaned to no one in particular.
"Number Five Pro Hero Shoto" was highlighted as the best result of his search, with a picture of the man in what looked like a bar. It was a good picture; about a forty five degree angle, and the light behind the bar made it seem as though his eyelashes were glowing. He wasn't smiling, but he looked relaxed, content.
Clicking on the first link, he was satisfied that it was a website he'd used before. He reached down to his bag, opening it and pulling out the notebook with the number 21 in bold marker on the front, then opened it to the next blank page. He grabbed a pen, checked to make sure it worked, then began writing away.
Izuku had filled three pages when he was about done with his note taking, and he finally remembered his apple. He took a bite of the apple, humming a bit at the sweet taste and figuring he wouldn't need to get new apples when he went grocery shopping, and he skimmed over the information he had written. An idea hit him when he got back to Shoto's age, same as his. While he's got the tab open, and he's in the mood to do it, he should probably start writing some things about the other Pro Heroes his age.
By the time he was done with the heroes that had graduated UA in his year, he had filled the notebook he was in, as well as another new one, and was a third of the way through the one after that. He saw that it was dark out, and frowned. He wanted to keep writing, realizing how far behind he really was.
"Damnit," he cursed under his breath, putting his pen down in the middle of the notebook and closing it so the pen would keep his place, he closed his laptop and stretched his arms up in the air. "Maybe I'll take tomorrow off. I need to get more food anyway. And I think I need more notebooks."
While he threw his apple core away and made himself a real meal for dinner he decided that yes, he would take the day off. He picked up his phone and shot a quick message to Void, just letting her know as a courtesy so she wouldn't bug him the next day. He watched the news while he ate his dinner, as always, and was thoroughly disappointed by the lack of anything going on. Then he cleaned up, showered, and went to bed.
Sorry this came out so much later than the other ones, I honestly forgot this story existed. I'll say that I'll try to be better about this, but I make absolutely no promises of whether or not that will actually happen. Anyway, word count was 1015. I hope you liked it and please let me know if you want to see any character in specific!
