Ron ran through the park, dodging trees and constantly looking left and right, trying to see where Harry had gone. He hoped the guards hadn't caught him, they had somewhere they had to be this morning.

He finally reached his destination, a huge tree that had been struck by lightning long ago, hollowing out the middle. He pulled on the crudely made door and hid inside. Harry clearly wasn't here yet, so Ron sat down to wait.

He knew it had been a bad morning for Harry to run off with him, and he had tried to tell his best friend that he really should have stayed in the castle, but Harry insisted that Dumbledore could handle council without him for just this month.

But Ron knew the real reason Harry was so insistent that they go investigate that lake today specifically. It was the one year anniversary of his father's death. Ron was also skipping out on something important today, the one year celebration of his coronation. But since his Kingdom consisted of a total of eight people, he didn't have any guards to try and stop him from leaving.

His depressing thoughts were interrupted when Harry finally arrived.

"Sorry, mate," he said upon entering, panting heavily. "They gave quite the chase today. Dumbledore must really want me at that meeting." He frowned slightly.

"I'm sorry," Ron said, embarrassed that his friend was going through this trouble for him.

Harry's face cleared instantly, "Oh, no, it's ok. Plus the woman we got the report from about this lake monster was very distraught, I am serving my Kingdom much more by helping them out then sitting in some boring meeting."

Ron smiled and nodded. "How long until you think they're gone?"

"We're probably safe to go by the time the next bell tolls," he replied, pulling out a map of his Kingdom.

The two of them studied it for a bit, plotting the best path to get to the small town on the outskirts of the Kingdom. They pondered what could be living in that lake that was causing such trouble, but it was just to pass the time, they had nothing much to go on until they visited the place themselves.

Finally the bells of the castle tolled nine times and the two twelve year old boys stood up and made their way out of the tree.

They only walked as far as the end of the capital city, where Harry had a trusted horse merchant, who would loan them horses without asking any questions, for a few galleons of course.

"Have a good ride, King Harry, King Ronald," he nodded once to each of them, then turned to continue tending to his other steeds.

Ron absolutely loved riding horses, his Kingdom didn't have any. He did have a donkey, but it was shared with King Percy's Kingdom which was next to his, so he only had access to her everyday other day.

They rode at top speed, taking the paths that were least used and that didn't cut through towns, in order to not have to slow down much. Ron's stomach told him it was lunch by the time they got to the lakeside town named Chipping.

Harry headed straight for the town square, presumably knowing that they would find a place to buy lunch there. He knew Ron well. As they slowed to approach, they heard quite the commotion happening. They dismounted and tied their steeds to the nearest pole before rushing over to see what the fuss was about.

A girl, a boy and a man stood on a platform. The man seemed to be the town law enforcer. He was trying to quiet the crowd who were all yelling. Ron heard multiple people shouting "Witch!"

"Oh man," Harry sighed as it became clear what was going on.

"Quiet!" yelled the man in charge. "Mr. McLaggen has not finished yet!"
