NaLu One-Shot (E.N.D)

{General POV}

It's been so long since the fighting began, and there is still no sign of its ending. Everyone from the guild is still at it, trying desperately to save their beloved comrade, Natsu. The team, especially Lucy, are the closest to him, so they didn't care if they barely had the energy to even stand.

There he was, mostly covered in black to represent the demon he was. Horns sticking out of his head, and his smile was no longer the comforting one they knew, but devilish and mocking. Lucy began to cry out of nowhere, she couldn't handle how things worked out.

Erza, Gray, Wendy, Happy, and Carla looked at her with hurt in their hearts. They at least knew how much Lucy loved Natsu.

"You are all weaklings, ya know that?!" Natsu, E.N.D, told them. That ticked off everyone, except Lucy, and they launched another attack, tears still in their eyes. E.N.D just countered it and they all were flunked to the floor with rubble. Everyone else was already weakened and Lucy was the last one standing. She was thinking fast about ways to turn him back like before. What if the one magic my mom told me about, love, works to bring Natsu back? Lucy thought to herself as he looked at her suspiciously.

"Hey you! Why do you seem so important? What is your name?" Natsu asked in an impatient tone. Lucy shaked with fear, at the time Natsu was unpredictable so he was now capable of anything.

"I guess I'll just kill you off first, or slaughter your friends in front of your eyes." Natsu told her. At this, she didn't hesitate and went towards E.N.D calmly, with a smile. The sudden change in appearance caught him off guard and he had a look of shocked on his face.

"Natsu, I love you." Lucy told him as she got close enough. She leaned in and kissed him.

Now, many thoughts were running through the demon's head. Who is she and what the hell is she trying to accomplish?! He thought as she fell slowly to the ground, smiling in the end. Suddenly, his eyes returned from blood red to the normal onyx orbs. Reacting quickly, he caught Lucy gently before falling completely to the rubble beneath their feet.

Everyone who was conscious and out of energy were all surprised. Did Lucy really die just to bring him back?

Natsu seemed to not remember anything other than returning to normal. He softly nudged at Lucy with patience, hoping she would wake up and see those chocolate eyes staring right back.

"Hey Luce, wake up. Are you okay?" Natsu said as he moved her once more. Seeing no signs of waking up, he shook Lucy with more force, frantic and desperate.

Then, Wendy slowly went up to Natsu with a sad look on her face, still shaking of fear.

"N-Natsu-san, a-are you r-really back to n-normal?" she managed to squeak out. He looked at her and nodded, a bit confused.

"Well, you see, Lucy-san died to bring you back." Wendy informed him as she finally let herself cry out of sadness. Natsu's eyes widened with shock. No, she can't be dead, he thought as he looked at Lucy again. She looked somewhat paler and now Happy was silently crying next to her. Carla was there as well, patting him and crying a little too.

"But....what did she protect me from?" he asked outloud. Erza came up and faced him.

"She actually protected you from the demon you were, E.N.D." Erza told him as she did her best to stay strong and went to comfort Wendy.

~Time Skip to One Year Since Lucy's Death~

Now, Natsu visited Lucy's grave everyday, without fail. Inscripted on the stone were the words, 'Here lies Lucy Heartfillia, daughter of Layla and Jude. Friend and comrade of all Fairy Tail guild.'

"I'm so sorry Lucy. You died because you protected me, when I promised that I would protect you. Please forgive me." he cried a bit while saying it.

"Don't worry, I forgive you." a soft and familiar voice called to him. He turned around to face Lucy's spirit, smiling like she did before. She quickly faded and Natsu cried, but still smiled at the thought of her forgiveness 'till the end.
