Five months later...
Sighing for air you stepped outside of the hospital doors, it was snowing outside and you had just come back from seeing Kami. She was was admitted into the hospital after falling again. It seems these spontaneous falls are occurring more often.
You decided to take an uber back to the house, you would have asked Suna but he was out with his friends and your mom was busy. This was the best option.
On the ride home you were thinking a lot about your mom, Suna, Kami, and you Dad. You realized so much was left unresolved and that after this you would not think about you Dad anymore. Kami once said to "live in the moment" maybe this was what she meant. I should be focussing on her right now.
When you finally arrived the cold house greeted you as you took off your coat and beanie. You decided to give Suna a call while you looked in the fridge for something to eat. You sighed, "Great straight to voice mail." Pulling a juice box from the fridge you sat on a stool while scrolling on your phone.
Should I have given him a call? It was moments like this that made you remember you and Suna were not dating. During the past few months you have been having fun and he planned the best birthday for you, it was perfect. But you still were not official and the sweet nothings weren't as promising anymore.
It made you nervous, he could leave you at any moment. Would he?
You felt your priorities were scrambled, while the past few months have calm since finals were over you couldn't help but feel that something was coming.
Scrolling through twitter your phone began to ring. It was Suna.
"Hey Rin," You couldn't hide the excitement in your voice seeing he had called you.
"(Y/N), is everything alright?" he questioned. You hadn't seen him in a few days, you were beginning to miss him.
"Yeah, uh yeah. I just wanted to see you, it's been a week you know." You spoke softly.
There was a bit of silence on the other end, "Are you free tonight?"
"Yes."
"Okay, I'll see you tonight (Y/n)." He hung up the phone and the silence rung in your ears.
"Okay..."
You were watching a show when you received a text from Suna saying he was here. Jumping off your bed you slipped on your shoes and hoodie and made your way to the front door. The house was already beginning to feel warmer.
Opening the door you were greeted with a tall, brown haired boy, "Rin," you smiled up at him.
"(Y/n)," A small smile appeared on his face as he greeted you and made his way inside taking off his shoes and jacket, "Is your mom home?"
"She's working," the two of you began to make your way upstairs to your room, a new found common occurrence.
Entering the room behind Suna you closed the door as you felt Suna push you against the wall and begin kissing your neck. This took you aback but you went with it. You let him take off your hoodie and allowed his hands to roam your back. You sighed, "Rin."
He then turned you around as he continued to kiss your neck, "Rin," It almost came out as a question, he was beginning to get a bit more aggressive.
Before he got the chance to pull down your pants your turned around, "Rin!" He took a step back and began panting.
"What's wrong?" he questioned.
You examined his face, "W-What are we doing?" It just came out, "It's been the same thing for months, but I don't understand." Your voice cracked, "We aren't even dating but we do all these things and... and it's confusing me. But you don't even speak to me anymore... what happened, you just come by and we have sex and- and you leave." You couldn't help your eyes beginning to water, "Say something, please."
Suna looked down at you, his eyes soften for a second before turning cold again, "I can't do this right now." He reached for the door handle and you grabbed his hand.
Months ago things were different but you couldn't be okay we this anymore, you were selfish but so was he.
"Do what?" Your brows furrowed.
"I can't be who you need me to be, not right now, I'm sorry (Y/n)," He pulled his arm away and walked out. Something had to have been going on his life right? It wasn't you, you are not a draining person, it is not your fault.
You walked out of your room and called out to him, "If you walk out then this is done." A tear ran down your face.
Suna looked at you and you wish he hadn't, he was cold and scary. But there was a glint of sadness as he walked away from you.
You wanted him to stay, you wanted to be selfish, you deserve to be. Yet you couldn't.
The front door could be heard from upstairs as it was shut, walking back into your room you fell onto your bed. Sobbing you let your salty tears coat your silky pillows.
How can so much change in such little time?
Why is this happening?
