"Oh, well, I can't give you any information, because I don't remember anything," Jungkook responded a bit nervously. He's biting his lower lip now.
"Nothing?" The detective asked while narrowing his eyes.
"Ugh, actually, Jungkook didn't even remember anything that happened before the accident. He lost all of his memories," Taehyung helped provide information to the investigator.
"Oh. So sorry to hear that," Detective Kim seemed concerned, "Are you planning to take legal action against the driver?"
"We haven't discussed it yet. We've been really focused on his recovery," Taehyung answered as he held Jungkook's arm.
"What exactly happened?" Jungkook asked. His curiosity was eating him alive.
"Well, it looks like the driver entered a fairly busy parking area near a shopping center and restaurant. You popped out of nowhere and ran right in front of him. He passed a sober test at the scene of the crime, was not speeding and was not careless while driving. After bumping into you, he stopped. He helped you, he called 911 and all until the paramedics and police arrived. There were also several witnesses to support the story," Detective Kim explained.
"It sounds like he didn't do anything wrong," Taehyung uttered. In the back of his mind, Taehyung remembered the driver's name, Jimin. He was the man who helped him and asked for help.
"Apparently so, unless you say otherwise. Is there a statement you would like to convey?" Detective Seokjin Kim asked.
Taehyung silently looked at Jungkook who seemed to be thinking.
"I don't think there is," he shook his head.
"Well, fine then. This case is closed; I think. Thank you for your time," Detective Kim nodded and walked away from them.
Taehyung helped Jungkook, who was still limping, back to his room. He helped Jungkook remove his robe and sit on the edge of the hospital bed.
"Thank you," Jungkook smiled sincerely at Taehyung.
"No need to. Is there anything I can get you? Do you want to eat something? Would you like ice cream or something perhaps?" Taehyung offered.
Jungkook chuckled, "The doctor said I should eat foods that are high in nutrition for the brain," he commented. His voice sounds velvety. Not only Taehyung found his voice to sound so soft as silk. He found comfort and security in it too.
"Well, ice cream can make you happy. I just want to make you happy," Taehyung shrugged and giggled, he replied honestly.
"That's so sweet of you," Jungkook smiled at him as he grasped his right hand, "But I think I'm just happy because you're here. Thank you for looking after me, Taehyung. I haven't thanked you for everything you have done for me while I was here and went through all this treatment process. I feel so bad."
Taehyung's heart flutters. He feels his cheeks are getting hot, "Hey, Sweetheart. You don't have to mention it. It was an accident, it's not even your fault."
"I mean, I'm so sorry I can't remember you...," Jungkook sounds genuine, "But I want you to know that I'm really thankful for your help and your kindness. I truly appreciate everything that you've done for me," the man purred, as he showed him his gratitude.
And hearing that statement, Taehyung couldn't hide his smile. He felt so happy, he's on the top of the world. He's on cloud nine right now because Jungkook brought him there.
Taehyung cupped Jungkook's cheek tenderly, "It's okay. Everything will be fine, you'll be fine. And we'll be perfect," he whispered.
Jungkook continued to look into his eyes without blinking as he slowly took Taehyung's wrist and kissed it gently, making him gasp and blush instantly.
