As always the ruckus of lunch break was hard to navigate through

Pardon me, i said for the hundredth time as i tried to squeeze past the crowd. And for the hundredth time i was ignored.

As stealthy as a breeze my sister calls me. Unless my hair gets caught in someone's button. Again. I was prepared this time, my brown hair in a long braid followed me like a whip, zigzagging through the jungle of people, right to the back garden. Behind the bushes, under the window of the 2nd story library, was a giant oak. With stone seating around the trunk.

I finally sat down. Putting my leather bag beside me and pulling out my book and lunch. The oak looked out to the road leading up to kelling high. I wonder why it was harder than usual to get here.

I was eating my pb&j and opening my braid to let my hair breathe when i saw what could possibly be the reason of today's riot.

A long, chic, ridiculous black car was driving up the road to the school entry. Behind to rolled down glass was a boy. His dark hair flying in the breeze. His gaze elsewhere. Damn. Another hottie.

Just for a moment we locked eyes, and i intuitively hid behind my book, before mentally facepalming myself for my reaction. Before i could look back, the car was gone.

What good does daydreaming about someone make Alex? Just... Huh... Just eat your damn sandwich.

........................................................................................

"Was it really necessary to change schools?" I geunted "its october already. Couldn't we forgive and forget?"

"I am not going to have an argument with you on a subject neither of us have a say in, sir"

Just like that my driver dismissed me. Unbelievable.
We rounded a corner and i saw a giant oak tree. And under it.... A girl? Her hair was blown by the wind and our eyes locked. She immediately hid behind her book. How adorable. I hid my smile as we drove past.

The moment we reached the main gates it was swarming with people. Of course i dont expect any less. It must be their honour having me or the premises, let alone me enrolling here.

I put on my sunglasses even though there was barely any sun and almost expected flash photography as i stepped out.

I took a few steps and took off my sunglasses dramatically as i saw not the headmistress, not the teachers but a mere student come up to me.

A few screams broke loose as i did that and i tried to look nonchalant untill i heard a name screamed out that wasnt mine.

"Lucas! Oh look here lucas!"

I turned trying to decipher who on earth would scream someone else's name in my vicinity and who on earth this lucas was. Until the answer presented himself.

The student walked up to me and held out his hand. "Welcome to kelling high mister evenson. I'm lucas mccree head prefect."

I took a nonamused look at his hand and looked away, waiting for someone more competent to escort me.

"Headmistress dune sent me to escort you to her office."

He dropped his hand and showed me the way. I took one last desperate glance at my driver who sat back in his seat and drove away. Traitor. I cleared my throat and followed mister prefect.

The guide to the principals office was a gruesome lecture about the history of the castle and its lavishly benumbed stone walls. I could not. Care. Less.

A sigh escaped my mouth and i glanced behind at the group of girls following us. And they looked fine. I winked at one with the best bod and the giant bossomed girl blushed and came forward.

I like that. I put an arm around her and as she played with my shawl i grabbed her chin to steal a kiss, when mr prefect interrupted us.

"Physical intimacy is strictly prohibited on school grounds mr Evenson"

It stopped me in my tracks and made the girl in my arms scrurry back into the crowd. So its like that huh?

"Please. Call me Asher" i gave a dry smile

"Very well, Asher, the headmistress is waiting for you"

I followed his outstretched hand to the giant double decked doors. I entered and saw The room open up to what can only be called a witch's tower. A round room with floor to ceiling windows and 3 levels of bookcases that lead up to a giant glass ceiling.

"What the f--"

"Mr Evenson!" The red chair turned around, revealing an old lady in a gray suit. Rocking a red lipstick and a giant greed pendant. Her nails were done and adorned with various rings on fingers that lay on her knees. "We have been hearing about you"

"Great things i suppose" i said with a grim. My father almost bought this place with the amount of donations he gave.

"Things... Not necessarily great" She dismissed "i hope you weren't too inconvenienced by the mid year transfer. In fact your transfer was something planned from quite some time ago." She said as she pointed at the chair in front of her for me to sit.

"This is news to me" i said as i sat down.

"Your father is of the honoured alumni." She pointed at the wall of frames that i suppose one of them must contain a photo of my father.

It does make sense. Its the most agreeable reason for my father to support such a far off fallen School on an island in the middle of nowhere

"You were expecting me?"

"I suppose we lacked a reason, but thankfully to your own shenanigans this problem was also solved"

At the point i was completely taken aback. I wouldn't mind some banter but the way the staff has been acting is straight up rude. How dare they.

The smile of the headmistress was off putting. Ever since i stepped into this place a chill has been following me. I wonder if it is because of the old building or... Something else entirely?
