Her

I woke up at 12:00 PM to the light beaming through my window. I hissed before turning away. But then... I thought of her. My eyes shot open, and I leaped out of bed. I knew I had stuff to attend to today.

Step one, I needed to learn her schedule. This is a crucial step. I will need know when she goes to work, and when she leaves. Once she leaves, I can follow her home and find out where she lives. I got fired at around 7:00 PM yesterday, and that's when she walked in... so she must work the night shift... I have time, then.

I left my apartment and walked the busy streets of Tokyo. Not paying attention to a single person around me. My thoughts dwelled on her. She never left my mind, not once. I would bump into a few people as I was lost in my thoughts, getting shouted at from time to time. I finally snapped back into reality as I approached the convenience store that she works at. It's 12:30 now... I could wait here for 6 hours and 30 minutes, or I could wait at home until then... I stood outside the store, wondering which path I should take.

I think I should wait at the store. What if she comes in early? I don't want to risk missing her.

I sat down on the sidewalk of the convenience store, hidden in the shadows so I'm invisible to the public.

3 hours later

I was still hidden by the store, until a strange man approached me. He didn't work here, he must just be a bystander, passing by me, or concerned. "Hello." The man said. I was annoyed that he was interrupting me, but I had no choice but to interact with him so he doesn't suspect anything. "Hello." I greeted back. "May I ask... Have you seen any ghosts lately?" The man questioned. I chuckled a bit at his question before answering. "No, no I have not." I said plainly. "Oh. You will be fine then." He responded. "This area has not been the safest. Young girls get prayed on all the time here. Even some men, too." He added. I was confused as to why he was specifically telling me this, but I brushed it off. "I know what you're up to. You're one of those people." He said, like he knew what I was doing. "What?" I said. "Keep it moving, old man." I said, hoping to make him leave me alone. "You'll get caught. Just like the others." He said. I furrowed my eyebrows. He walked up to me and patted my shoulder. "I'd stop while you're ahead." He said before walking away. I looked back, and he was gone. He must've been a delusional man. I laughed a bit before sitting down once more. I can't miss her. I can't.

Another 3 hours later

It was now 7:00 PM. I hid behind a vending machine, waiting for her to arrive. And, not long after hiding, I saw her. I saw her approaching the store. My eyes lit up once I saw her again. Her beautiful brown hair, her gorgeous eyes you could get lost in... She then entered the store and clocked in for the day. I watched her stand behind the counter from the window. Even just seeing her stand there made my heart race. I wanted to feel her... I don't know how to approach her...

The time went by, I continued to watch her through the window without being seen. I decided to walk into the store to get her attention. She greeted me as I walked in. "Konban!" My heart fluttered. She never said anything to me before. My face turned a flush red as I quickly walked to the end of the store so she couldn't see me. I nearly collapsed to the floor. Her voice was so amazing. I've never heard anything like it before.

Once I calmed down, I began to think again. I think I should buy something, so she doesn't get suspicious of me entering the store and not buying anything... I paced the isles, trying to find something to buy that seems normal. I decided I'd buy instant ramen as a source of food for the next few days. I grabbed a few packs and slowly headed to the counter. My heart was beating faster and faster as I got closer to her. She was patiently waiting for me to arrive, and once I did, she gave me a warm smile. I placed the ramen on the counter, and she began to scan it. I looked into her brown eyes, and slowly moved down to her lips. They looked soft, and a beautiful natural red color. Everything about this woman was perfect. I lost touch with reality as I examined her features. I was then snapped out of my trance by her voice. "Sir, your total is 1,478.10 yen." I quickly reached into my pockets and grabbed the money I owed her. "Thank you, have a wonderful day!" She said as I grabbed my ramen. I quickly exited the store. I peered through the window once again to get another look at her. Her smile was stunning. I never wanted to stop looking at her. My smile soon faded once I saw her greet another customer the same way. Was she faking happiness towards me? No... Her smile was so genuine... She likes me. Her smile seems fake with those other customers... Not with me. She loves me. My eye twitched as she continued to chat with the customer. I grinded my teeth and walked off once again to my hiding spot. I impatiently paced around waiting for her to get off of work.

4 hours later

It was now 11:00 PM. I was still waiting for her to get off of work. And finally, I saw her leaving the store. I quickly but carefully got up and followed her. I kept my distance, so she doesn't see me, but I made sure she was always in my vision. We were walking for about 10 minutes before we approached a run-down apartment. Is this where she lives? She deserves better than this. I hid behind a trash can as I viewed which apartment she entered. "105" It read. I finally knew where she lived. I know her schedule, and I know where she stays. I began to run back to my apartment. I was trying to contain my smile, but I just couldn't. Everything was going my way. Everything was going perfect. She will be mine in no time.
