ANNA'S POVMy Mother smoothed down my hair as I sat with my back against the wall, Amelia mumbling on about how long my Father was taking. It seemed that she was waiting for him, which made me think that she wanted him around for whatever reason. My guess was that he frightened me and she enjoyed that. She loved seeing me squirm uncomfortably around him.
"He has ten minutes to get his ass in here before we leave," Amelia told us as if we cared. If we were going to leave, leaving without my Father was the better option. Although, we did want to stay here where we could be found more easily. I was just hoping that somebody had found my Father and had got him to talk. If Amelia took us, we would never be discovered and we would be gone forever. She definitely had a good few hiding spots lined up for us.
"Can we please have some water?" asked my Mother as she smacked her lips, the lack of moisture in her mouth making it sound claggy.
Amelia glared at us before huffing, filling up two plastic cups of water and handing them to us, crossing her arms over her chest as she watched us guzzle them done. The cold liquid soothed my throat and I felt as if I could speak again. My throat no longer felt as if it was sticking together.
Taking the cups away so we couldn't use them against her, not that it would cause any damage, Amelia settled back down in her chair. She pulled her rucksack over her shoulder, the item small and most likely containing only the bare necessities. She seemed to travel light which made sense considering she was always moving around.
"Well," she spoke, chuckling to herself. "It looks like nobody is coming for you. That's a real bummer, right? It appears even your own Father has decided to leave. I guess you are just that worthless."
"Do not speak about her that way," my Mother tried defending me, but it only gained her a slap around the face, causing me to gasp. I lunged at Amelia, feeling rage waver through me. It was a stupid idea. I knew that I couldn't fight her, her being ten times stronger than I was. But I sure as held tried.
I tasted blood inside of my mouth as Amelia hit me again and again around the face, slamming my head down onto the hard floorboards, clambering on top of me. My Mother screamed for me, tears streaming down her cheeks as she tugged at Amelia's legs, but, she kicked her away with ease.
"You think you're going to hurt me, really Anna? I'm a wolf! You're a human!" Amelia taunted, smiling as she wrapped her hand around my throat. I clawed at her hand, hating the feeling of the oxygen being squeezed out of me, my heart beating a mile a minute as panic began to set in.
"Amelia! Stop it please, you're going to kill her!" begged my Mother, her frantic plea falling upon deaf ears. My own were ringing, my vision becoming blurry.
"I'm not going to kill her," Amelia spat. "Not yet anyway."
My wide eyes pleaded with Amelia as I tried my hardest to buck her off of my chest, but it was no use. She remained in place, pushing down harder on my throat, and I felt my face turning red.
"Just a little longer," Amelia mumbled to herself with a smile, raising her eyebrows at me as if daring me to challenge her. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't. I was scratching at her, digging my nails into her flesh, but she didn't budge. Her skin healed quickly, and she only hissed with pain a few times before her skin knitted itself back together in seconds.
I noticed black spots in my vision, and I was concerned that I was going to pass out. If I did, I was worried what Amelia was going to do to my Mother. What if she took her and left me here to die? I would never find her. She would have to live out the rest of her life being tortured by a jealous narcistic psychopath.
