just a short one-shot

tw: implied death

enjoy...

He yawned, his eyes watering and the analytics on the computer screen being blurred for a moment. He hadn't ate for days. Had water that morning. It was 12:00am.

What on Mobius was he doing?

A pain in his stomach had grown, but he couldn't bring himself to standing up and grabbing food or water.

Again, what was he doing?

Groaning and looking at the screen, he couldn't dettach himself from the lines and lines of numbers.

You see, when a project was started, Miles couldn't take his eyes off it.

Thus he didn't like starting big ones, since they always led back to this.

Dehydration and starvation. Something that wasn't good for his growing body.

Huffing in annoyance, he looked at the time. Again.

Was he loosing memory, too?

12:10 am.

Great, no progress.

He silently wished that Sonic came home, as he was the only thing that made him go to sleep.

He wanted to hear his annoying, 30-minute long lecture.

He wanted to get ticked off that he was treating him like a baby.

He wanted to hear Sonic's tired voice that made him feel bad.

He wanted to smell the chili in his fur and insult him for it, saying he had bad hygiene.

And most of all, he just wanted to see his brother.

He hadn't seen him in 5 months, anyway.

And look where that's got him.

Curling in on himself, he went over a mantra he had been saying the past few days.

"He's coming back, he's coming back, he's coming back."

But what if he didn't?

What if Sonic, who had left with no warning, just wanted him out of his life?

What if he just wasn't good enough?

His eyes stung, and not in a tired way.

He forced the tears back.

"He's coming back, he's coming back, he's coming back."

And every time he said that, a question led.

But what if he didn't?

His eyes stung harder, to the point where it hurt not to cry.

"He's coming back.." Squeaked poor Miles.

He couldn't continue it, as cowardly tears poured out.

No, he's coming back!

HE'S COMING BACK!

And in the trash can next to Miles.

Was a paper listed,

You are invited to the funeral of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Why was it in the trash, you ask?

Why, Miles couldn't bring himself to believe it.
