I quickly figured out Clara's current situation.
It seems like his life isn't as good as I thought it would be.
After graduating from college, there were problems with his father's financial chain. She didn't even attend the graduation ceremony and was in a hurry to return to Indonesia. Then his father gave him a business marriage with a second-generation rich man.
And that was the man I saw in the car that day.
Liegan, the only son of the chairman of the Lippo Group.
Clara's family seems to be relying on the Lippo Group to spend money and fix the family's financial chain. So in a hurry to marry the two off.
I spent a month investigating Liegan, and found that this person was very different from the second-generation rich Playboy I had imagined.
His personal life could even be described as clean, never having had a scandal, his favorite activities were not drinking beer, flirting with women or racing. Instead, he would go to a basketball hall that cost 400,000 an hour, and play ball with students.
I don't know what Liegan was thinking, but Clara seemed to really like him.
She had a backup account that not many people knew about, I spent a long time finding it. This backup account recorded every moment of her time with Liegan. It seemed like almost everything related to Liegan was posted by her. And all the words were full of unconcealed love.
Looking at the handsome man in the photo, with a hint of arrogance between his brows. I thought, I think I know where to start.
.......Liegan's schedule is very clearly organized.
His daily life seems to be just shuttling between two places, going to work and coming home. And mostly just going to the basketball court to play basketball.
After I found out his work hours, I adopted a stray cat online. Counting the time while holding my cat by the side of the road.
And sure enough, it wasn't long before the familiar Rolls Royce appeared on the road. I pretended not to see it, squatting on the floor and looking at the kitten. Knowing that the car was approaching, I panicked and fell to the floor limply, then scraped my body against the road vigorously.
Under the setting sun, the car's paint reflected the shining dark light. Liegan rushed out of the car angrily, and slammed the car door shut.
"You have no eyes."
Before he could finish speaking, I raised my head and apologized frantically,
"Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean that, it's just that I saw a cat on the road."
While saying that, I moved slightly while enduring the pain in my knees, and revealed the white kitten in my hand.
The kitten opened her round eyes, her black paws pressed against my white skirt and left a trail of tiny plum blossoms, she was screaming in terror.
Liegan was stunned for a moment, then held back the unfinished words.
I stood supported on the ground, the part of my knee that was scratched vigorously was bleeding, it was horrible to see.
"I'm really sorry. I apologize in a low voice, I'll leave now."
After I finished speaking I didn't stop for a moment, and immediately walked with a limp to the side of the road.
Two.....
I counted in my heart.
Sure enough, when I counted to one, Liegan started talking and stopped me.
"You hurt your knee, I'll take you to the hospital."
I turned my back to him and raised the corners of my lips.
I spent 3 months looking through all of Liegan's social media accounts carefully.
Seven years ago when she was studying in England, she had a stray white cat. It had kept her company for three years in that strange place. Then, because a caregiver accidentally failed to close the door, the cat ran out and was killed by a car.
Seeing the same cat again, I couldn't believe that she didn't have that cat on her mind.
I turned around and said, "It's okay, it's not bad, I'll walk back by myself."
"Don't waste time." Liegan glanced at the cat in my arms and said in a low voice,
"By car."
.....
Sitting in the car, I hugged the cat carefully, and pressed the wound on my knee with toilet paper.
Liegan glanced at my knee and cringed slightly.
"Go to the vet first." I held the kitten in my arms and said in a low voice, "It looks like she was hit by a car."
"Go and bank your feet first." Liegan took out alcohol wipes and handed them to me, "You wipe off the blood first."
I took a tissue and shook my head.
"I'm fine, my skin is only slightly injured. Let's check the cat first, it's very small, maybe it got hit somewhere."
Liegan glanced at the cat on my arm and didn't insist anymore. She looked for the nearest pet shop and parked the car.
.......
The doctor carefully examined the little white cat's limbs, after he took the x-ray images, he said calmly,
"It's no big deal, he's just a little stressed, and has some ear mites and sore skin, it's common in feral cats. I'll prescribe some medicine for you, go home and put it on him."
I sat on the sofa hugging the kitten, a slender white hand gently stroking its head. In my arms, the kitten calmed down quickly and slowly made a purring sound.
"Thank you, how much is it?" I took out my phone and found that it had automatically turned off due to lack of battery.
I pursed my lips and asked the doctor in embarrassment, "Doctor, I'm sorry, my phone's battery has run out, can I recharge it here before paying?"
Liegan, who was on the side walking here, took out his cell phone and scanned the payment code right away, then he transferred the money neatly.
I smiled embarrassedly at him and said logically, "Thank you, please leave your contact information, when I go home I will transfer the money to you."
"No need." Liegan glanced at the sleeping cat, his gaze slightly complicated.
"No way." I looked at him and insisted, "You already brought me here, how can I let you spend money again, I have to pay you back!"
The afternoon sun shone down on me through the glass window of the pet shop, making the golden glow of the tea-brown hair scattered at my side.
I know that my pupils must be very clear under sunlight, this is the most natural lens I have found after trying hundreds of others.
A girl in a white dress with a white kitten, no man can resist.
Sure enough, after Liegan frowned a little, he looked for a paper to write down his whatsapp number and handed it to me.
I took the paper and smiled at him, "Okay, thanks for today, I'm going to go check my own knee, so please continue your busy schedule."
This time he didn't reject me, he looked at the cat in my hand again, then pushed the door to get out.
He didn't see, the smile on my face that was behind him disappeared instantly.
I crumpled the sheet of paper in my hand, and kept holding the little white cat that suddenly woke up in one hand.
I kept staring at Liegan's back.
Good, the prey has stepped into my territory.
I won't let him go.
