We didn't deserve this

Hailey was 9 months pregnant and her and jay have been so excited on the arrival of their babygirl, Savanna Halstead. Life seemed to be going perfect, until the accident.

Hailey laid in bed the same way she's been doing for almost two weeks now, just curled up with the pink tiny blanket with had Ava written on it. That was supposed to be her newborn blanket, and it's the only thing Hailey has that can offer her comfort- besides from jay of course.

Jay was in the kitchen when he heard a knock on the door, he answered it and to his surprise it was his brother. "hey man" Will said in a. sympathetic tone "hey"

Will walked in placing a bag of food on the counter "figured I could bring y'all something to eat" Jay nodded his head "yeah thanks". "so how you been I know its a stupid question but" jay shrugged his shoulders "it sucks man I just never thought this would happen"

"I know its hard but you'll get through this I know you will"

"yeah but what about Hailey I mean I know I'm hurting but she has to be feeling it ten times worst then me"

"hey don't do that Ava was your baby too, this happened to the both of you. You're feelings are important here too Jay"

"I know, its just I never had this dying wish to be a father but once it gets so close and you start imagining her littles eyes looking back at you"

Will nodded his head

"I mean I imagined daddy-daughter dances, little league games, dance recitals" Jays eyes started watering

"I know Jay, she existed for you"

"yeah she did, didn't she"

Both the brothers were in tears by this point

"look I appreciate you coming by and the food but I need to go try to get Hailey out the bed and she isn't gonna want any visitors"

"of course I understand just promise me you'll call me if you need anything"

jay nodded his head "yeah"

Will pulled Jay in for a hug, the two weren't much on hugging but today felt needed. After Will left Jay made his way into the bedroom to see Hailey the exact way he left her, curled up in a ball with what would've been Ava's baby blanket. She laid there motionless but her eyes were wide open, yet seemed like no life was in them at all.

Jay made his way over to the bed and sat down beside her and put his hand on her shoulder "hey Will brought us breakfast if you want" she took a deep breathe still not sitting up or looking at Jay "I'm not hungry right now"

Jay nodded his head in understanding "I know I don't really have an appetite either but you need to eat something" Hailey shook her head and began to cry "she was my baby" Hailey started wailing "why did this happen" she said in between cries "I don't know Hails" jay said starting to get emotional as well" Hailey finally sat up and looked him with tearing streaming down her face "we would've been such good parents" Jay nodded his head "I know we would've" Hailey kept crying "I mean what did I do wrong to deserve this"

Jay quickly wrapped his arms around her "nothing absolutely nothing, this sucks and its awful but you did nothing to deserve this" he said soft but assertive Hailey shook her head "I just don't understand why this had to happen we did everything right" jay just continued to sit there letting her cry in his arms

{2 weeks later}

Jay was sleeping peacefully when he rolled over to which usually the Body of his wife was beside him but when he didn't feel her his eyes immediately shot open. He saw that Hailey wasn't in the bed beside him.
