Frostpelt of RiverClan sat by the water's edge. The water rippled from fish jumping. Frostpelt was trying to get a good fish. Suddenly, a huge carp leaped from the water. Frostpelt shot her paw out, claws extended, and caught the carp. She dragged it to the shore.

"Frostpelt!" a voice called. "We're ready to head back!"

"Already?" Frostpelt asked. "Can't I keep fishing?"

"You've only caught one fish?" Ducktail asked, walking to Frostpelt. "Woah! That's a huge fish! The elders will love it!"

Frostpelt prided herself on how well she could take care of her Clan. She took the carp and followed Ducktail to the camp and hurried into the elder's den.

"Look at that mighty fine carp!" purred Cherrybreeze.

"I caught a bigger one when I was younger!" wheezed Acornbrook.

Acornbrook was a cranky tom who always had to one up everyone. He always had a story about the biggest fish and the best fight against trespassers and the best negotiations. Nobody actually knew if this was true, since Acornbrook was the oldest cat besides Shallowstar.

Shallowstar enjoyed watching the warriors figure out if Acornbrook was exaggerating or not. Only he and Acornbrook knew if it were true. The other two elders, Cherrybreeze and Oakstorm, were apparently never around when Acornbrook made these great feats. They suspected he was exaggerating.

Frostpelt smiled. "But this one will do, right?"

She watched as Acornbrook took a bite. He gave her a satisfied look. "Yes. Well done, young'un."

Frostpelt purred with delight. This was the first time Acornbrook gave her praise.

"Don't get used to it," he scoffed. "Anyway, you should get going with your daily duties."

Frostpelt was beaming with joy as she walked out of the elder's den. She gazed around the camp as she sat next to her friend, Mudfoot. The brown she-cat was eating a trout.

"Guess what?" Frostpelt asked excitedly. "Acornbrook actually praised the fish I caught!"

"Really?" Mudfoot gasped. "That's amazing!" The two she-cats are the trout and then headed off to do some patrols. They came back that evening.

Frostpelt surveyed the camp. Moonsplash, as quiet as ever, was eating a tiny minnow he had found. Cloudblossom was socializing with some of the other she-cats. The camp was at peace and most everyone was accompanied for. Suddenly, a cat burst into camp.

"ThunderClan is trying to take Sunningrocks!" Pondfall screeched. "They've disregarded the Warrior Code and have killed Puddlestream!"
