Miles away from danger, Ava finally pulled into her usual hideout—a discreet apartment tucked away from the bustling city. It was a sanctuary, a place she had meticulously fortified over the years. She carefully carried Liam inside and gently placed him on the couch.
Liam stirred as he regained consciousness, his eyes fluttering open. He looked up at Ava, his green eyes searching her face for reassurance. She gave him a soft, comforting smile.
