started with a swap

The Date. Chapter 2

I look out my window while being driven to the date, hoping we wouldn't talk that much, and I could get back to my work as soon as possible.

"Sir, we're here," said my chauffeur while parking the car
"Right, thanks," I said while fixing my tie. I sigh before opening the car door and getting out of the car.

I walk into the golden gate restaurant greeted by the host
"Welcome sir, do you have a reservation?"
"Yes I do, it's under Nickolas Grove,"
the host looked through his list
"Ah yes, right here, you're seated at table 3. Your other party member is already here,"
"Thank you,"
I walk towards the table he said, a girl was already there but she didn't look like how father described, she had dark brown hair and light brown skin, it must be because his sight was getting worse but she still looked beautiful. She was wearing a tight-fitting black dress. I walk towards her.
"Your name must be melody, if I'm not mistaken,"
She turns to face me and stands up.
"That's right, you must be Nickolas. It's a pleasure to meet you,"
She held out her hand, and I shook it.
"You too,"
I sit down, and she does as well.
"I'm sure you know that I'm only here because my father wants me to be"
"Yes, I am."
"Good, let's just make this quick. Do you have any questions for me?"
"No, I don't." She responds
"Great, then we can just eat, then leave,"
"Right."
The "date" continued. We didn't say another word to each other, and we just ate. An hour later, we had both finished
"I'll get someone to send a car here to get you home," I said, wiping my mouth with a napkin
"I live close. I can walk," She said, standing up
"Are you sure, I wouldn't want you to get hurt on the way home, especially since the sun has set."
"I'll be fine," She said confidently
"Ok then, until another time Melody"
"Who- oh um right, until another time"
Did she just forget her name? I thought to myself I didn't get a chance to say anything before she left the restaurant.

Well, that date was.... something
