"Guys, think about it," Julie intervenes, looking at me with a seriousness I've never seen on her face before. "We need to get in touch with this doctor. It could be very beneficial for Chris to have therapy or sessions with her, or whatever it's called. He's never talked to someone outside the house... and I think she can help him a lot."

I nod in response and smile at her.

"That's exactly what I was thinking, Julie."

"We'll find her," Leo announces as he approaches Julie and embraces her. "As for you, little brother, don't be dishonest," he raises an eyebrow, and I want to run away. "You weren't thinking about that."

Damn.

"I still need to extract more information from you about this woman to understand that strange aura that's surrounding you."

"Well, that's good," Julie says with a laugh. "I thought I was the only one who could see it."

Leo laughs and kisses her head again. I just roll my eyes in response and turn around to start getting ready.

I have a fight to win.

It's not that I'm a coward running away from my brother's scrutinizing gaze.

Later, I find myself feeling truly irritated with myself.

Even almost five hours after winning the fight and being back home, I can't get those pair of brown eyes out of my head. And it's... her smile. Or rather... the lips that shaped her smile.

Have I become stupid?

"So...," I hear Leo start to say, "Chris's doctor... is she a witch?"

I furrow my brow and look at my brother, who now watches me with a raised eyebrow.

"What are you talking about?" I ask, totally confused.

"Well... Chris can't stop talking about his new doctor, and you look like a lovesick idiot."

I roll my eyes and get up from the couch to go to the fridge and grab a bottle of water.

"I'm... thinking."

"About the doctor."

"Shut up," I roll my eyes and finish drinking the water

"Aisher?" Julie calls me, and suddenly she appears in the living room looking a bit unfocused and quite thoughtful. "Do you happen to know if this doctor is... a psychiatrist or something?"

"No. Why?" Her eyes study me for a moment before she smiles.

"Chris made great progress with this doctor, and he was talking to her for less than half an hour. I really think she could be of great help."

I nod, although somewhat distracted.

Is this woman for real?

"Did you see if her uniform indicated her specialty?" Julie asks.

"To be honest, I didn't," I reply, tossing the empty water bottle into the trash can. "I was... worried about Chris."

"Worried, he says," Leo intervenes, laughing.

"Leo!" Julie scolds, patting his arm affectionately. "I'm being serious. I think seeing this doctor would be very helpful for Chris."

"I think the same as you," my brother responds, smiling at me mischievously. "And since we're at it, she should also check on Aisher. Seems like the punches left him... a bit dim."

I roll my eyes and throw a kitchen towel at him.

"Do you think you can get her number, Ai?" Julie asks, completely ignoring her husband.

"I think I can," I smile at her and affectionately stroke her arm. "I'll talk to Kevin to check the cameras and all that. I'll let you know when I find something."

She smiles and does a little victory jump.

"Thank you so much!"

I smile back at her and roll my eyes at Leo, who can't stop staring at me with a raised eyebrow.

"That's enough," I announce tiredly, turning around to leave them alone. "I swear you deserve a place in heaven for marrying him."

Julie's laughter tells me I'm right, and I can't help but smile before leaving them alone in the living room.

Sometimes, just sometimes, I wish I had something like what they have.
