Teasing after teasing

The two of us headed up to the terrace. I was leaning against the open railing, and the two of us looked across the horizon into the beautiful cityscape and evening sky together. Scattered across the terrace were a few other similar couples viewing the nightscape. I sighed, while I was looking ahead dreamily.

      - It’s been a long time since I last enjoyed New York’s night view.

Soft, sensual romantic music played in the background of the terrace.

      -  Especially…

I glanced at the man who was standing beside me.

      -  ……With a man.

I exhale a long breath  I didn’t realize I was holding and stretched myself across the railing, taking in the magnificent view.

      -  Isn’t the view amazing?

Bruce stared at me for a while, his expression unreadable.
      -  What about Mr. Nadal?

Hearing Josh’s name, I sighed dramatically.

      -  He may be my husband – and maybe for a time, he was even something more but we are nothing but strangers now.

Bruce crossed his arms and leaned on the side of the railing, giving me his full attention.

      -  I am listening.

I folded my hands together tightly and stared down below at the streets. I furrowed my brows as I explained.

       - It’s been ten years already. I wanna call an end to this so – called marriage. But Josh won’t allow it.

I turned to Bruce. My eyes were bright with angry tears.

        - I used to be a girl with dreams and a bright future. Do you know? I didn’t expect my life to turn out like this! It looks like I’m having the time of my life, but really I’m always by myself.

I turned away and hugged myself as I spoke in a low voice.

         - It doesn’t matter whether I have dreams or wishes when nobody cares what I think.

Bruce took a step toward me and placed a warm hand on my shoulder.

        - I am listening

I looked up and saw the sincerity in his eyes.

        -  Um… No, it’s pointless.

I brushed his hand away and looked at the distance sadly. As I moved away, I suddenly found the hem of my dress hooked to the railing. I tried to disengage but failed and the hemline ripped in my attempt.

       - Oh no! I just got this dress! Can you help me, Bruce
       -  I’m coming. Hold still.

Bruce ran to me and firmly held my ankle still.

       - Don’t move.

I felt the warmth of his hand on my leg. His calloused fingers gripped my ankle. He tipped my lower leg at an angle, and my core tightened as the cool, night air ran between my legs. The place he was touching me was feeling ticklish. I remembered Keiko’s words… she said “It’s a golden opportunity. Take advantage of it” I took the opportunity that time. I bit my lower lip, reached down, and slowly pulled up my dress’s hemline. I swayed my leg sensually in front of him, stretching it out.

        - Hey Bruce. What do you think, do I seem like Cinderella now?

I nudged his arm gently with the arch of my foot. Bruce back tensed, and he breathed heavily through his nose.

        - Come on, Bruce. What do you think?
