A warm home greeted those yellow amber eyes of innocence as soon as the woman, who had picked him up from the orphanage, opened the door that separated him from his soon to be habitat that is, starting today, he'll be living in here. "Go on, Eijun," a soft voice ushered the young boy to go inside, placing a gentle pat on his back, encouraging him to step in.

The woman was beautiful; her purple eyes reminded him of the little lilies that he used to pick over at the backyard of the orphanage where he used to stay.

A smile crawled up to her lips as Eijun stared up at her with pure innocence; it wasn't enough to swoon internally so she cradle up his tiny frame into her arms and carried her into their apartment, her husband following behind.

"Rana, he can walk on his own. Stop babying him," a snarky remark escaped the man's lips, which followed behind the woman, closing the door behind him.

"Mei, it's only the first day. Try to be nice, will you? He's your son starting today," the said "Rana" replied, giving a warning look at her husband who only huffed in response.

Eijun could only stare at him clueless, and then went back at looking at her foster mother. Rana smiled down at him, "Sorry about Papa, Eijun. He's having a bad day." She tells him, brushing her nose against him softly.

"Papa...?" Murmured the innocent boy, seeming unfamiliar to the family he now had. "M-Mama...?" he spurts out hesitantly to gain confirmation that indeed, the woman carrying him in his arms, is now the mother he yearned and lacked for years.

Rana's heart fluttered, hearing those words from her now baby boy. Droplets of tears stung the corner of her eyes as she smiled, "Un. Starting today, I'll be your mommy, okay? Eijun-kun."

"Rana, can you prepare dinner? I'm hungry already." Mei called from the living room, raising his feet up the coffee table and focusing in reading baseball magazine.

Sighing, the wife set Eijun down on the floor, walking over the living room's door frame and glare at her husband, "Fine. Then you can show Eijun his room, Mei," she says in a tone of authority, crossing her arms.

Mei twitched and poked his eyes from the magazine that was hiding his face. He couldn't say no to his wife. This is the woman who's been keeping his feet on the ground ever since she said yes to him when he asked her to be his girlfriend. That commitment deepened when he got on his knees and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him, and exchange vows in front of the altar.

Mei sighed, putting the magazine beside the unoccupied space on the couch. He pushed himself off the sofa and walked over to his wife and pointed at his lips that pouted, "Not without a kiss," he says smugly.

Rana sighed, bringing her lips to peck Mei on the cheek, "There, now Eijun," she looked down at the boy whose hands gripped at the hem of her long skirt. "Papa will show you your room now." she smiles down at him.

The hold on her skirts tightened when Eijun's eyes shifted to Mei who was glaring icily at him, looking not amused at all.

The boy hid behind Rana's legs, scared to even lock eyes with his father, and whimpered softly.

"Now, now." Rana bent her knees, coming to her son's aid, wiping his cheeks dry. "Papa seems to be scary at first, but deep down, he's a really nice dork."

Eijun's blinked, "Dork?"

Chuckling, Rana smiled, nodding her head, "Right. You can call him Daddy Dork!"

"Hey, Rana!" Mei snapped, stopping her from teaching the kid nicknames he doesn't want to get called at. Hell, he's already gone through Rana; he doesn't want to deal with a toddler he barely knew.
