I was right, the little boy does live with the new family. When spring break ended I saw the family a lot more. I then learned that the little boy has an older brother, Adam. He was the most annoying rich kid I have ever meet. Adam is a joiner, so one grade below me.
"Are you evening listening to me?" I jumped at the voice, looking over I am met with the most beautiful green eyes.
"Sorry Holly, I spaced out." I grabbed Holly's hand and intertwined our fingers, bringing them up to my lips and placed a gentle kiss on her soft skin. "What were you saying?"
"I was asking if you had meet the new kid yet?" She furrowed her brows at me and I squeezed her hand in reassurance, giving her a bright smile before replying, with a no. Holy groaned, pulling in her fishing rod and packed her tackle box.
"Let me help." I offered, folding up the chairs.
"Thank you." She kissed my cheek and we headed for the truck. The beat down, yellow 72 has seen some better days. It was slightly rusty and badly needed a wash. But it was what I had and I wouldn't give it up for the world, it worked perfectly fine so why would I? Holly yawned and laid her head against the window, bringing her legs up and tucking them close to her. WE had been by the lake for a while, only caught about five fish though. "Prom is in a month." She looked over at me, a bright smile plastered on her face. "You gonna ask me out?"
"You're already my girlfriend, what's there to ask?" I chuckled.
"Okay!" She scoffed, slapping my arm playfully. "Way to be romantic." She said, hoping out of the truck once I pulled up to her house. I walked her to her front door, handing her the tackle box.
"Holly?" I asked, catching her attention before she could close the door. She made eye contact with me, her red hair slightly over one eye. "Would you go to prom with me?"
