I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE.

"Hey, Dev. This is Kelsey!" Mick said to Devon, making a hand gesture to the blonde haired boy beside him, "He just moved here."

"Oh, hi-" Within an instant glance at the guy a seat away from him, he instantly felt his face heat up and a disgusting, nauseating yet awfully good feeling arose inside his stomach.

"Hi," Kelsey said, beaming a soft smile at Devon, "it's nice to meet you." Kelsey's smile made Devon feel ridiculously good. He didn't feel worthy of it. "Y-you too." Devon nervously stammered, feeling like he would choke. "I invited him to sit with us at lunch." Mick added. Devon didn't really think that Kelsey would actually. He was probably only talking to them out of pity. During the entirety of class, Devon couldn't help but glance at Kelsey throughout it. He was a very pretty guy, down to every last feature. He hoped to get to know him better during lunch, that is if he actually wanted to sit with them-

RING

The loud bell interrupted Devon's... interesting train of thought.

Sitting against the cold concrete wall with Mick, Devon impatiently waited for Kelsey's arrival. He knew he wasn't going to show up, he was already getting along with everyone else like it was a chore. "Hey, guys!" Kelsey greeted, sitting down in a cross legged position in front of the two. "Hi!" Mick excitedly exclaimed, happy to know there was more than one person that actually wanted to sit with him. "Apparently the school lunch sucks here, so I just brought my own." Kelsey said with a held back laugh. "My mum makes really good sandwiches." He continued, Devon reaching into his own messenger bag and holding back a gag at his own food. He started to skip lunch as a whole recently, because bologna sandwiches had started to make him sick. "I like this sorta sunny weather, it's nice." Kelsey attempted to continue the conversation, glancing at Devon's seemingly nervous self. "Yeah, it is, but Devon prefers clouds. If I didn't know better, I'd think he was a vampire." Mick replied, snickering. For what felt like ages, Devon watched as Kelsey stared at him, like he was analysing him, before Kelsey leaned in and said "Well, he doesn't sparkle in the sunlight like the ones in the movies. Probably not a vampire." Devon prayed that Kelsey wouldn't have noticed his face heating up at the close interaction.

"Hey, Kelsey!" Devon heard a bell-like voice call out, as Heather approached the group. "Oh, hi Heather." Kelsey responded. Why did he sound annoyed? Heather was one of the prettiest girls in school, to Devon at least, Mick didn't think so, probably sick of Devon's past rambling about her. "I found that book you told me about, I'm going to read it tonight!" She said joyfully. "That's good," Kelsey replied. "I'm glad you're excited." Heather gleamed a smile at Kelsey, gave Devon a strange look before sauntering away to her bundle of friends. "She's pretty." Kelsey muttered. "Yeah, Devon thinks that-" Mick's sentence was cut off as he noticed Devon gave him a stare that said 'Shut the hell up.' "Yeah, she is." Devon agreed.

Devon couldn't sleep. That gross nauseating stir in his stomach had not left him, and he couldn't possibly think about anything else. He didn't think about once in his life the possibility of him liking a guy! It wasn't normal for him to feel this way. It was wrong. How was he even meant to say it? He had watched Kelsey throughout the two classes that they shared, and it seemed he bonded with everyone he talked to. How did he do it so easily? Devon just wasn't anything special to him, anyway. Devon briskly turned over and onto his side and tried to fall asleep, just trying to ignore the nausea.

As Devon and Mick walked to the school, Mick was talking Devon's ear off about the movie he had watched last night, but Devon had just drowned it out. He seriously was fixated on Kelsey. Upon seeing Kelsey waiting by the gate, Devon could swear his heart skipped a beat. Mick pretty much dragged Devon over by his arm, and greeted Kelsey. "Hey," Kelsey waved to Mick, while giving Devon that awfully nice smile. "I was talking to my neighbour George this morning, and he said he could help us make a little hangout spot." Devon watched Mick's eyes light up from excitement. "That sounds so cool!" Mick eagerly exclaimed. "I'm up for it." Devon softly smiled at Kelsey, and also noticed a tinge more of happiness appeared on Kelsey's face when he said it. Probably didn't mean anything... right? "Heather and her friends also wanted to come along, is that okay with you guys?" Kelsey added. Devon could feel his heart drop. He was fine with Mick being there as well, but Heather? "That's fine." Devon dryly replied. Mick nodded, agreeingly. "Okay, George said he's going to pick us up at the parking lot after school. He's got a massive red truck, you can't miss it."
