Abhimanyu - You..

The atmosphere tensed around Abhimanyu. He looked at Devishi with widen eyes and sweaty face. He was about to speak further.

Devishi - Can't you speak a bit high..?? Are your vocals dead..??

He took some seconds to realise she didn't hear him as he gave a nervous smile.

Abhimanyu - Oh.. umm.. nothing..

Devishi - Tell na.. who's that girl..

Abhimanyu - I will tell you later.. when the right time will arrive..

Devishi - Okay leave it.. Tell about your business.. I won't be interested but still..

He hummed while looking elsewhere. She sighed and nodded.

Devishi - Fine then.. get back to sleep now.. I am also feeling sleepy..

She smiled and patted his shoulder before getting up and taking her phone.. he smiled back.. as she left.. and he just stared at her disappearing figure. He rested his head back on the couch feeling his heart been running. He massaged his temples and closed his eyes thinking deeply.

Abhimanyu - 12 years.. fucking 12 years.. I was apart from you.. I can still remember your tiny finger in mine while going back to school.. your first word was Abhi.. Me carrying you on piggy back while crossing a puddle of water.. huh.. we changed from classmates to friends to best friends.. but now I wish our relationship to be more than friends..

He remembered every moment he spent with her.. because of his non talkative behaviour no children talk to him.. but Devishi was different.. and she was ever so determined to make his her friend.. and see.. she succeeded.

He released a heavy breath and went back to his room.. to get some sleep..

Time skips

Abhimanyu rubbed his eyes when the ray of sunlight fall on his eyes.. he was again getting back to sleep until he heard continuous bell ring from outside.. he groaned and got up..

Abhimanyu - What's going on..??

His frown grew deeper when he saw all family members decorating the house.. while wandering here and there.. He again rubbed his eyes until his eyes fall on Devishi.

She was wearing Indian.. her hairs were tied in a loose braid.. she was helping in decorating the house..

He leaned over the door admiring her each and every moment..

An unknown smile crept on his face

An unknown smile crept on his face. He frowned when the stool on which she was standing isn't balanced.. he went there to hold it.. but it was too late.. and the chair's one leg broke inwards..

They next moment, air became even cooler. He held her through her waist.. while the chair fell already.. her one hand was on his arm and other one on his shoulder..
