The girl, Ao, looked at me with a bewildered expression. I guess she never thought of being free from the extra and unneeded voice in our heads. Well, I got rid of mine, but...meh, it's understandable. Her hair reached down past her back when she turned around. Her eyes widened at the sight of me.

"Oh. Right, sorry to scare you. I'm not Lost, I swear." I said, pulling down the hood of my cloak. "You...do know what The Lost look like, yeah?" My voice shifted tone to a questioning one. But more in the sense of I hoped that she would say yes.

Ao blinked, then stuttered out, "Uh-! Yeah! I've fought some Lost before...sorry. You look just like one, you're even wearing the Tower's Uniform. Why can you talk?' I sighed. I always get this question from every Magi I meet. But I'm used to it, so I answered her, relaxing my tone as I did.

"Ah, that's...a personal story. Not to mention a long one. I'll fill you in later. But I've got some questions for you, first. Mind answering?" I figured it was best to ask beforehand. Ao looked at me, conflicted. I thought at first that she just didn't trust me. Y'know, with me being a Lost. But something else quickly crossed my mind. It seemed more realistic than the first idea.

"Oh, right. I should've guessed, huh? My words didn't make sense, did they? About losing that Jester's voice? My bad, I can clarify for you later, but you need to tell me a few things about yourself first." I'm glad that came out the way I intended. Although I don't have anyone pestering me inside my mind, my own voice can work against me sometimes, and that gets real annoying, real fast.

Ao's expression seemed to relax slightly, but she was still apprehensive. I couldn't blame her, the situations the Magi go through make trust a difficult thing to believe in. Then I got an idea, maybe things would be a bit easier for the both of us to sink into if this went the way I thought it would. Luckily it did. I slowly walked towards the pond Ao was standing next to, and I reached out my hand towards its surface.

"Wait, you might-" I heard Ao call out to me, her monotone shifting to ever-so-slight worry. My hand dipped into the pond, the water was cool and relaxing. Nothing else happened. I looked back at Ao, I could feel myself smiling slightly. She looked quite surprised. After all, the pond had no effect on me. Just like it has no effects on humans.

I chuckled softly, the surprised or shocked expressions I would get from people were always entertaining. It was so easy to impress the Magi, I wondered how I'd gotten this far.

Oh, right.

Murder. As anything would ask for.
