Dealing with a bookworm

Chapter 1

One month later,
Do you ever want to time travel or just go back to the days when the biggest problem for you was what am I going to wear today or just live life without the care of anything ?
Today made me think about it, if only I had these powers. I guess everyone around me woke up today and chose violence. I was a happy girl reading books and living in my own world just one month ago and now it feels like I'm in somebody else's body. I haven't even opened my favourite book in a week and that's really messing with my brain.
"I am extremely sorry ma'am but the book you're looking for is currently being borrowed.",I try to reason with this annoying lady in front of me.
She huffs and puffs and leaves the library with a, "Whatever."
It's not my day today. First dumping a whole cup of coffee on my white cardigan, and slipping on the same coffee, to missing the bus to work and now dealing with the annoying cruella looking lady.
In the one month away from home, I have managed to find a part time job at the local library, found a room and also a roommate. The old me could never do this. But being away from home is never nice no matter how well you live by yourself.
"Evy Livy,are you ok?", Emma, my boss and the owner of the library asks.
"Yes, it's just not a good day. And I'm sorry for being late to work today. You can just deduct it from my pay this week."
"Everyone has one of those days,Livy. Don't stress about it and I'm not deducting anything.",Emma says with the warmest smile I have seen today.
No matter what happened today, I can say without a doubt, this small lady with brown hair dusted with white here and there is the best boss I could have asked for. She makes me miss my mom and now my mood is down again.
"Are you all ready for tomorrow?"
Tomorrow I'm officially starting my university life. And now I'm nauseous.
"Yes, and I'm freaked out. What if no one likes me or ignore me?"
"Oh dear, you're the loveliest person in the world, everyone will love you.", she tries to comfort me.
"Hope so."

Roomie: can you hurry your ass out. I'm
                   freezing
Me: OMW, out in five min
Roomie: Don't forget the book!!!!
Me: 🙄
My roommate,Maeve, is a wild cat with no care about the world what so ever. She speaks at the same time she thinks.And whatever that comes out that mouth is with no filters.
The only upside for tomorrow is that I'm roommates with someone who's going to be in the same Uni with me. When I found out that we were both attending Saint Matthews University, the first time we talked, I was over the moon but I got dragged back to the earth when we were in different majors.
At least it's someone.
I pack my bags and clock out for the day. After closing the doors and locking it, I make my way to Mae's car and like I guessed she is standing outside the car. She has this weird habit of waiting outside the car whereas, me like most of the population would have just stayed inside.
"Mae, how was your day?", I ask tying the scarf around my neck.
"So so, you got the book for me?"
Mae has been obsessed with this boy who frequents the library I work at and last time she finally had a conversation with him.
"Yeah, I got his favourite book. Are you sure you can read all this."
"You gotta do what you gotta do girlie"
"I'd much rather show him the real me instead of becoming someone I'm not."
Mae gives me those "I knew you were going to say that" look. Then she says, " I'm not gonna become someone I'm not Liv,I'm just trying to get to know him better."
I nod and give her the book. Knowing her this is either going to end with a marriage or a funeral, no in between.
We get in the car and she gives me all the prep talk she can on our way back to our place to prepare me for my first day at Uni tomorrow.
And I assure you it did nothing for my nerves.
