My story will begins after my graduation in Leyte. I graduated BS information Technology in EVSU ( Eastern Visayas State University) Tacloban City. After graduation last June 2006 I tried to find job in our place but failed to do so. I applied in different places in our province but still no available jobs.

After how many months waiting for a call from the companies I applied I was really bored. I tried helping my parents on our store as well as in our farm in the province. By the way my mother is a plain housewife. Her name is Herminia or "Erming" as her nickname. My father is a retired policeman and is taking care of our rice farm in our next barangay. His name is Iluminado or "Oming" called since his childhood days. We grown up in our barangay with my sister Demilyn. A simple in the province was very nice and peaceful. Our parents makes us feel that we are a treasure for them. They make our life easier by sending us to a good school.

Going back to my story while waiting for a call from different companies I applied for. It was not easy for me being just a "TAMBAY". In my mind I want to work in the field of my studies but no feedback from the companies I applied before. I tried to apply in fast foods, internet cafe etc... Time passes by and December was coming. I don't still have a job. I'm wondering what will happen to me if I can't find a job. But still I have a feeling that things happens for a reason. I know GOD has a perfect plan for all of us.

When December comes I was thinking that time that I need to find a job asap. I tried to find job in our local places for how many days but still no jobs were available.

I heard from my parents that my cousins will be going to Metro Manila to have a vacation for Christmas. i told my parents that I want to try to work in the Metro. It was tough decision for me to leave my family in the province. I knew that it would be a big risk for me living a new life and meeting different people. I was advice by my parents that living an independent life would be different. I told them that I would try the risk in living a different life. It would be a good experience for me and I know that it would be a part of my growing up stage.

As days go by, I've realized that there is no turning once I will pursuing my career in the metro. It was really a turning point in my life making a hard decision for my life. I know my parents were just thinking for my safety if they will permit me to pursue my dreams and find a good job. I decided to go and join my cousins journey for there vacation and for me to work in Manila.

It was a week before we will be going for a travel to Manila when I spoke with my mother. She gave me advice that it is hard to live alone in Manila because of her experience before. My mother actually work in the metro when she still was a single with her sister as a baby sitter. I know that it is hard for to let me go in a different journey. I was with my parents since I was a child. I only experience away from them when I was in high school.

Actually I finished my high school in St. Mary's Academy Palo Leyte. It is far from our place that's the reason why I stayed with my Aunt in Palo for my studies before. I stayed long there but after two years I decided to go home daily. It was hard for me because our home was two to three kilometers away form the main highway. At first I walked early in the morning so that I wont be late. As time goes by my cousin lend me his bicycle to be use for my travel from our barangay to the main highway so that it would be easier for me travel and wont be late in school. I was very thankful for all the people help me until I finished my studies in high school.
