"Father is what you call him, isn't it?" A strange voice asked. Am I... Dreaming?
"I call my dad Father too, you know?" I turned around to see a person who looked older than me, I think he was 19 years of age. He wore a familiar lavender-shaded cloak... Wait. That's the strange man in my dream last time! His name was Edy. I looked around me, it was in the attic that we cleaned today.
"This was where I slept when I was a child, according to Father," Edy said as he stared outside the window which gave a view of the moonlit farmlands outside. "When I was six, I heard Father crying here at the large window. Or when I passed a room with a star design carved onto its door, I heard him crying. I don't know why."
"You're like me," yet Edy didn't turn around to face me. "We both have two Fathers and we know well what happened to our first one along with his wife." I heard his voice breaking. He turned around "Isn't that... Isn't that true?!" Edy screamed. His scream shattered the dream, forcing me to wake up in a cold sweat again like last time. I sat up on my bed with a shocked look on my face.
"Woah!" Grey shouted. "I was about to wake you up!" I turned my head around. I saw him leaning on my doorframe. "One second you were sleeping soundly and then you just- I dunno, raised like a zombie? Reaching your hand out?" Grey silently chuckled.
"Ehehe... Strange dream. Strange dream. Strange dream." I repeated my words three times.
"Are you gonna get out of bed or?.." Grey asked."Oh right... We're gonna go to the northern town."
"C'mon! It's five in the morning. The earlier we get to the town the better." Grey tossed my towel at me. I instantly caught it as soon as it touched my hands. "First person to finish doing their things gets a prize!""Hey! I want a prize!" I shouted as I got out of my bed and rushed to open my closet. I froze when I saw my closet was filled with different clothes. Clothes that were... The clothes that I saw in my reflections? How- how could that be? Then I blinked and the clothes were gone. I swear I was going crazy. There's something off about my powers today. I say it's always brewing a curse because the most unfortunate things happen so randomly. There was no way to control it. I didn't even notice that my power had calmed down these past few days which made me worried. Is there something happening? I shrugged those thoughts off and carefully picked my clothes for today. I chose a white polo, a nice pair of black pants, and a beige-colored sweater vest. After that, I went to the bathroom after Lisa and Grey had finished and went to my room to change clothes and get ready for the day.
"It's gonna be a long ride. Might take three hours." Lisa said as she gave us tote bags that had our water bottles and food in them. Today, she wore a beautiful long blue skirt, a white polo, and to top it off, a blue shawl. Meanwhile, Grey looked like he was going on a date yet again. He wore a grey turtleneck that had faint braid-like designs on it, on top, he layered a cotton coat which had a darker shade of black. Grey also wore dark brown pants and brown leather shoes. "And we're very much ready-" Lisa got cut off by Grey. "To meet Lisa's lovely lover!" he shouted as Lisa hit him lightly on the back. "You're gonna say that straight to his face when we get there." Lisa teasingly shouted. I chuckled as they playfully argued and made silly faces at each other. I turned around to open the door, and just as I was about to do so, I saw the same figure on the circular window of the door. I backed away a little but I didn't show my shock to alarm Grey and Lisa, still, my silence alarmed them and they came up to me.
"You okay? You look like you saw a ghost," Lisa said. She looked at the circular window that showed a still dark and gloomy outside.
"I think I did," I replied before I opened the door. Lisa already said her plans to Father so when we were gone he'd already know where we had gone. A cold morning breeze swept into us. The sky was only lit by the stars since it was a new moon today and if any more things lit up the surroundings, it would be a few patches of glowing flowers on the way to the northern town. We all shivered in the cold air that surrounded our farmlands. We exited the house and closed the door behind us, then walked up the path to the northern town. As Lisa took the lead, Grey and I talked about the northern town. He said things about its food and culture which made it a popular tourist destination for Seldorians, who were living on the western continent. Then he rambled on about the northern town already becoming a major city.
