"Fire!" shouted the captain. The crew quickly obeyed, firing all the cannons on the port-side of the ship at once. Cannon shots and screams filled the evening as war raged on.
"Captain!" called a young boy as he ran towards the stern to meet the captain.
"What?" the captain grumbled back.
"They're coming from the west and are bearing down from the north. They have the harbour under siege," the boy said between gasping breaths. "We can't go too far south 'cause The Crow is laying wait, and..." he managed to say before collapsing in exhaustion. Without hesitation the captain began bellowing orders.
"All hands trim sails! To the east we run!"
"Cap'n," the first mate shouted above the noise, "are you sure? The last time we be there, why I..."
"Just do as I say, or we all die!" the captain roared.
And so they headed eastward, to where few pirates had ever set foot before.
