She's crying again

Even though it was hardly possible (that's what he thought), the next morning had been no less complicated. He had to get up even earlier than usual to take his mother to the airport so she could fly back home, because she had an important doctor's appointment. It had taken him several discussions to convince her to fly at all, but he didn't want her to suffer from his problems and put her health at risk. Anyway, now he was alone, in the car, on the way to the movie set, with a crying Lea in the back seat. He would have liked to cry with her, but that was not possible, so he fought the tears with everything he had and tried to get to the set as quickly as possible, where Stefani was already waiting for him.

As soon as she had seen his car, she had gone outside to the parking lot and waited with her arms crossed.

Too late boss!

Those were the first words he heard as he got out. She greeted him with a smile, but when Bradley raised his index finger she tilted her head and looked at him questioningly. He opened the rear passenger door and revealed the reason for being late. Immediately she was beside him, almost pushing him aside to release Lea from her child seat herself.

Hello sweet pea! Oh come here, did your daddy just let you sit in the back huh? I missed you so much!

The little baby was still crying at first, but as soon as she was in Stefanis arms, she calmed down immediately. Bradley was taken aback by the sudden silence. He had been trying to calm the little one for what felt like hours, but had not succeeded.

How- She screamed for most of the ride, even though she usually loves to drive.

She rocked the little girl in her arms and gave her a quick kiss on the hair, breathing in the delightful baby smell which she loved so much.

Were you mean to your daddy, baby? Don't be mad with him, he's trying his best with you!

Stefani whispered the words in her ear so Bradley couldn't hear. In the meantime, he was putting the rest of his stuff out of his car.

B, I got you some coffee, thought you could use some. It's in my trailer.

You are a lifesaver!

He walked up to her and gave her a quick kiss on the temple, to which she responded with closed eyes. With his hands full, he immediately made his way into her trailer and took a breath, Stefani and Lea right behind him. With the little baby on her lap, she sat down on her bed and hummed a soothing tune.

How are you feeling? You look tired.

Oh, thank you.

She rolled her eyes dramatically, but then smiled again when she saw his grin.

Well, thanks to that young lady there, I didn't get quite as much sleep either. She was up pretty late and mom had to go to the airport early this morning. But it's okay, there's not much on the schedule today and luckily I've got this now.

He happily held up the coffee mug she had brought him. Seeing Stef with his baby on his lap took his breath away a bit every time, so he had to be careful not to drop the mug by accident.

She smells so good, B!

Stefani was mesmerized by the baby smell as she gave Lea a kiss on her short hair.

Believe me, she is able to change that very quickly.

They both laughed a little. The moment Stefani took Lea's little hands and wiggled them back and forth to give her a little smile, the little girl babbled again and looked at her father.
