Today is a special day. After weeks of searching and trying several schools, one finally accepted Sho. Today is his first day at school, but it's also a significant day for Izuku. Since Sho was born and they moved into this house, Izuku had to resign from his old job. While working on getting Sho into school, he also looked for a new job. Fortunately, he found one-a retail assistant position at a store near both their house and Sho's new school. Today also marks Izuku's first day at work.

He woke up early, made breakfast, and gently roused Sho from sleep. After getting him dressed and making sure he had everything packed, Izuku started their day. He called a taxi to take them to school, from where he'd walk to work. Sho, usually a quiet boy, was surprisingly chatty this morning, his excitement bubbling over. It was his first day in a new place, and he couldn't contain his curiosity. He asked all sorts of questions-about how many kids there would be, whether they'd all be his age, and if they'd be friendly.

Izuku answered him as best he could, his heart swelling with pride. He'd always worried a little about Sho fitting in. He'd grown up alone, mostly spending time with his grandmother and Aunt Uraraka, but never with children his own age. What if he didn't know how to socialize with them? What if they didn't like him? The thought lingered in the back of Izuku's mind as he reassured Sho that everything would be fine.

The taxi ride was short-only 15 minutes-but Sho's nervous energy made it feel longer. When they arrived at the school, Izuku helped Sho out of the car and held his little hand as they approached the front gate. The school was decorated with balloons and ribbons, and a few cartoon characters adorned the walls. Parents and children were walking in groups, laughing and chatting. Sho observed it all silently, his usual reserved nature kicking in as he noticed a girl crying as her mom dropped her off. The girl didn't want to let go, not ready to start her first day.

Suddenly, Sho stopped walking. Izuku looked down at him, concerned. Sho was gripping his own shirt tightly, his eyes downcast. Izuku knelt down to his level. "What's wrong, dear?" he asked gently.

Sho looked up, a little hesitant. "Are you going to leave me?"

Izuku's heart tightened. He placed a comforting hand on Sho's head, stroking it softly. "I'll come to pick you up soon, okay?" he said reassuringly. "I'll be here waiting for you. You'll see."

Sho nodded, but Izuku could see the worry behind his son's calm exterior. He wasn't crying like the other girl, but the anxiety was still there. Sho never showed much emotion, but it was clear he felt the pressure too, even if he hid it well.

"Let's go inside," Izuku said, trying to distract him. He led Sho to the teacher waiting by the gate. "Good morning, Mr. Midoriya," the teacher greeted with a warm smile. "Hello, Sho-kun. How are you today?"

Sho answered softly, "I'm fine. Thank you."

The teacher smiled again. "What a polite young man. We're going to have lots of fun today."

Izuku bent down again, looking Sho in the eyes. "Get along with your classmates, okay? I'll come pick you up later." He kissed Sho on the forehead. "Bye, baby."

"Bye, mommy," Sho murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

Izuku watched as the teacher took Sho's hand and led him inside, feeling a pang in his chest. He noticed the girl still crying at the gate, her mom promising her treats if she behaved. The contrast between Sho and the other kids struck him. Sho was always so understanding for his age, but Izuku couldn't help but wish he were more like the other children. Sho had always been so mature, but did he understand just how big this change was?

Izuku turned to leave, but paused, feeling a moment of doubt. What if Sho doesn't fit in? What if he's too quiet for them? Sho had spent most of his life alone. Izuku had always tried his best, but he couldn't help but wonder if he had been enough for Sho. Would he have been better off with more children around, more social interaction?

After a long day of work, Izuku eagerly awaited Sho's return. He rushed to pick him up, his heart lifting when he saw Sho standing by the school gate, holding his teacher's hand.

"Momma!" Sho exclaimed as he ran to him.

Izuku bent down, smiling. "Sho! How was it? Did you enjoy your day?"

Sho nodded, a small smile on his face, but his voice was quiet. "Yes, but I missed you."

Izuku's heart melted. "Aww, my sweet baby. Were you a good boy?"

"Yes, mommy."

"Well then, good boys get rewards."

Sho's eyes lit up. "Rewards?"

Izuku smiled. "Yes. You'll see." He took Sho's hand and they left together, feeling relieved. Sho had survived his first day, and despite his usual quiet nature, it seemed like he was adjusting just fine.

Later that evening, they sat at the kitchen table, Sho's hands covered in dough as he shaped it into little animals. His quiet, focused expression reminded Izuku of the boy's personality-always so absorbed, so meticulous.

"What shape is this?" Izuku asked, looking at a piece of dough Sho had shaped.

"It's a rabbit," Sho replied softly, his little fingers working carefully.

Izuku chuckled. "A rabbit, huh? It's perfect."

Sho beamed up at him. "I like rabbits."

Izuku's chest tightened. So much of Sho's world is so quiet. I wonder if he's okay. If I'm doing enough.

They baked the cookies together, laughing as Sho's creations slowly filled the tray.

Izuku snapped a picture and sent it to Todoroki, just as the oven beeped to signal the cookies were done.

Todoroki: What are you guys doing?
Izuku: Baking cookies.
Todoroki: They look delicious. How was Sho's first day at school?
Izuku: He didn't cry. He's really brave.
Todoroki: Sho's always been strong. You've done well, Izuku.

Izuku smiled softly at the text. Have I?

He ran a hand through his hair, the weight of the question still lingering, but for the first time that day, he felt the small reassurance that maybe, just maybe, he was doing okay. After all, Sho had survived his first day, just like Izuku had hoped.

"All done," Izuku murmured as he wiped his hands on a towel. "Let's enjoy these cookies, Sho."

Sho nodded, his eyes lighting up as he picked up one of the cookies. "Thank you, mommy."

Izuku kissed the top of Sho's head as they sat together at the table. In the warmth of their little kitchen, surrounded by freshly baked cookies, Izuku realized that no matter how quiet or reserved Sho was, they were doing it together-and maybe, just maybe, that was enough.
