When Two Eyes Meet

Chapter 1 // A New Beginning

Kaden is a brunette haired boy with big brown doe eyes, he's only 15 years old. He doesn't know much about the world or people of his culture, he only knows his worth. His worth to himself is simply zero. Kaden never saw himself as nothing more than a worthless piece of trash. Waste of oxygen, space, and even life. Kaden's father died when he was only five. His mother has always been there for him even when at his lowest.

    No one really knew who Kaden was. He saw himself as the extra, a background character of a TV show. And that's how everyone else saw him. He never really had any friends of his own. Just people he would talk to now and then. It was summer break and he had nothing to do. He took a glance out his window and saw a moving truck. His eyes widened, he had new neighbors. His mind quickly thought that this neighbor could be a new friend, his only friend.

    She was beautiful, she was nothing he'd ever seen before. She was gorgeous, the way she walked, the way her hair blew in the wind. Kaden then felt something he never experienced before, love at first sight. He couldn't believe that he hadn't even met her, and he's already falling in love with her. He ran to his front door and opened it like his life depended on it.

    He approached the black haired girl with nervous eyes. The black haired girl looks over at him and smiles. "Hi there, I'm Lucy. I'm your new neighbor!" She said with bliss in her eyes. "H-Hey, I'm Kaden, Kaden Gomez." He said, finally spitting out a sentence. Lucy could tell he was nervous just looking at him. His sweaty palms, his pink cheeks, his darting eyes, his smile. She liked this boy already.

    "This neighborhood looks nice." She said looking at the distant houses with a soft smile. "Oh yeah, it's really nice. No noisy neighbors, no annoying barking dogs, just peace and quiet." He said in a tranquil voice, feeling calmer than earlier. "So Lucy, with whom are you moving in with?" Kaden was curious about everything about her. "I'm just moving in with my dad, though he did say my cousin would occasionally visit." Lucy answered him as honestly as possible.

    Kaden's mom admired the two for a minute and called out to him for dinner.
"Kaden, ¡ya vente a comer!" She yelled at him from their house. "Okay mama, ahorita voy!" He yelled back at her. "So, you speak Spanish too?" She said with a grin on her face. "Only around family. Alright I have to go, bye!" He said waving at her before running off to his house.

    She continued to grin and returned to her new house, helping her dad with the boxes and their delicate items. "Hey can you get that box over there, mija? My back is killing me." Her dad asks, complaining. She nodded as she picked up the box and carried it into her house. They both plopped down on the couch and sighed simultaneously. "Pizza?" Her dad said with a wide grin on his face. "Yes please!" She nods eagerly as she smiles and stares at the ceiling.

    Meanwhile at Kaden's house, Kaden's mom grins evilly at her son as he walks in the house from the front door. Kaden looks at his mother clearly confused at the weird look on her face. "Flirting with the new neighbor, huh?" She said with amusement in her voice. He looks at her with a shocked expression. "What, mom no..." He said face palming with an annoyed expression on his face, with a slight tint of blush covering his cheeks. "Ah whatever, you were definitely flirting with her." She said as he took the fun out of it.

"Where's Pedro?" He says sneakily changing the subject. "He's in the bathroom, he'll be out in a minute." She shakes her head in disappointment as her son changes the subject. "Oh okay." He said as they sat at the table, waiting for their family member to join them. After he ate, he went to his room, obviously bored out of his mind. He looked out the window only to see the pizza delivery guy at Lucy's house.

"Oh god, I'm becoming a stalker. I'm going to sleep." He said to himself, laying his head down and dozing off in an instant.
