It was a summers day, the sun was shining, the flowers were blooming, and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. Violet sat under a tree and enjoyed the sun as it shone on her face. She felt like she was having the time of her life.

Brinnnnng.... Brinnnnng, her ringtone went off and she covered her face and sighed long. What was interrupting her time in the sun.

"Hello?"

"Hey Babe, do you want to come over today?"

Oh it was Mateo!

" Yes! I missed you! can you pick me up I'm down by the lake."

He chuckled, "Yes I'll be there in like 30 minutes"

"Ok see you then." She said with a big smile on her face.

She layed down and looked at the clouds. What can be better than this.

Violet spent the rest of the day and the night with Mateo. She usually spent the night because she didn't like to be home. She didn't really feel like she belonged anywhere. Her family was from New York but she somehow now lived with her grandma in Chicago. No matter where she went it felt like she always had trouble with her family.

She was happy that she was with Mateo and that she could find some peace in him. She thought about this as she wrapped her arms around him and slept.

I'm afraid she thought. I'm scared, help me, help me. She was frozen as she saw a big old man turned away from her in the sky. She was to the left of Him as he looked over at her. She was so afraid because she knew that she was in danger. She wanted to move and but it seemed impossible.

Violet woke up in a cold sweat. She sat up and covered her face.

"What's wrong" Mateo said as he held her.

"I don't know..."

Mateo went off to do what he usually did most days. He sold illegal products here and there on the streets. She stayed there in bed that day, still shook from the dream. Life was so good, why was she so... disturbed.

She sat up and called a church she found online.

"Hello...?"
She talked to them and they told her that she needed God in her life.

Maybe she did... But was right now the best time?

She hung up with them then continued to live her life like normal. Work boyfriend's house, and sometimes Grandma's house.

"Hey do you wanna come with me to Las Vegas? My mom has a hotel we can stay at?"

" That would be amazing Mateo!" Violet said.

"We leave tomorrow!" He said as he kissed her.

She was so excited she had never been to Las Vegas before it sounded like so much fun! This was surely something to get her mind off of that terrible dream.

The next day they hopped in the car and Mateo drove. Violet was so excited to go and have some fun! It seemed like it took forever and she was sure to make sure Mateo knew. They finally made it there and Violet jumped out the car. The hotel was so nice and she just wanted to explore.

She was able to see the city the hotel and all of the food. Then her and Mateo chilled at the hotel.

"Hey do you want to try some of this?" He said as he passed her some type drug.

"Sure." It wasn't her first time smoking she smoked weed on and off this shouldn't be any different.

They were having so much fun but one day she felt like she smoked to much, she felt so confused and sick for days. She thought that she was dying. What am I doing with my life. I don't want to die.

After that she never smoked again and she didn't even like when he did. She never wanted to feel like that again. She felt so scared what if she died and God casted her away. Why was she thinking about God!

After they came back, she went and tried to learn about God and even did some Bible studies, but she never stayed dedicated.  So she just continued with her regular life but she always had a great fear that continued to follow her whereever she went. A fear of death, a fear of life, a fear of the being who was in her dream, who was turned away from her.
