Song of the Story: Paper Rings by Taylor Swift

Chapter 1

"Alright class! It is nearly time for break but first we must all work together to tidy the classroom" I shout as the children around me run themselves ragged. The children come to a slow stop and begin clearing their desks and picking clippings of paper up off the floor. The bell sounds for playtime and a stampede of children head for the door swiftly.

I'm left on my own in my now peaceful classroom. I am exhausted! I start to gather my own things together and start preparing for the next lesson. As I'm rifling through some papers Mrs. Bell appears in the doorway, "Hi Miss Green, do you mind going to the art cupboard and looking for some colored card please? Ooo and some stickers!" I paint a smile on my face, hiding my drained expression from her, and nod my head half-heartedly.

I leave my classroom, brushing past Mrs. Bell, to go to the art cupboard. As I round the corner, I spot a tall, broad man, with a dirty blonde mop of hair, standing on a ladder painting the wall a bright shade of cornflower blue. I stop suddenly as I realize who this jaw-droppingly handsome man is, "well, well, well, look who it is! Charlie Adams!"

His head whips round quickly on hearing his name and his eyes roam my body quickly before he remembers where he is. He blinks quickly as if to clear his vision and finally speaks.

"Oh my gosh, Lily Green! I knew you would end up back here, and look and you, all grown up!"

"Hey, I'm still older than you, you know? But I can't say the same to you! What are you doing here?"

He leans his large bicep on the handle of the ladder. "I'm doing my mum a favor. She said they needed some work done, and I'm in between jobs at the moment, so I offered to help out."

I feel like I'm blushing at this insanely sweet man, that I haven't seen since Primary School, but I keep my cool. "That's sweet of you. And if you get chance, my room could do with some work. With the winter coming, the radiator could do with fixing?" I say with a look of hope.

"Of course." He replies.

I can feel butterflies forming in my tummy but I am saved by the bell, thank god. "See you soon then, I guess." I say as I wave goodbye and hurry back to class, completely forgetting about the art supplies.

Chapter 2

It's finally Friday and even though I do love these children, I do need a break from them. It is free play time on a Friday afternoon so the children are wandering about the classroom playing different games and puzzles when there is a knock at the door. I look up from my desk and I am met with the same broad shoulders and gorgeous face that I saw earlier that week. He sports a nervous wave in my direction as the whole class of 7 year olds stare at him blankly.

"Keep playing everyone! Don't scare Mr. Adams" I order them jokingly as they all giggle. Charlie walks towards me, carrying his toolbox and step ladder carefully, and stops in front of my desk, towering over me.

"Mr. Adams?" he asks flirtatiously.

"Yeah. It's what teachers do when an adult walks into the room in front of the children."

"Ah okay Miss Green" he responds with a grin.

I roll my eyes with a smirk and point at the window, "the radiator is over there." He strolls over to it and bends down to take a look. He spends the rest of the hour fixing it and he is still there after I dismiss the children for the day. After checking that no coats or lunchboxes had been left behind I return to the classroom.
