The two little fairys watched as the last light in the town went out, and the last towns person go to bed. The twins looked over to each other and grinned. The two sisters fluttered their wings and split up. The short one watched as her sister glided towards the animals, as she went to the crops. She landed next to the ground and turned to the villages crops. She had been watching the villagers tend to these crops with her sister for months and knew that soon the village would be ready to harvest them. She giggled to herself, "But that won't happen, will it now?". She then took the little bag at her side and opened it, grabbing the dark powery substance and sprinkling it over the crops. She took off and covered the crops with it, leaving only a few untouched. As the night passed on, she found herself getting close to done and she looked back at her work. As the plants she had covered withered and died, she grinned to herself. She knew that the village needed these crops, and that some may not survive the winter without them. Of course, that is why she had been killing the plants. She and her sister had seen what kind of mayhem could occur when crop yeild was low in other places, and had enjoyed the chaos. As she thought about the future, she heard something behind her and froze, expecting one of the villagers to have found her. "Dove! I've planted the poison in the animals food!" Dove turned and saw her dear sister, who had been planting poison in the villages animal food supply. She breathed, "You scared me, Ivy!", Her sister opened her mouth to object but Dove continued, "We should just finish up here and leave, before we're caught." Ivy nodded and got out her second pouch, and popped open the cap. She spread the red liquid around the ground until it was all gone. The two sisters then got out various herbs and spices and spread them around the area. As they were finishing up they heard someone approaching. They whipped around and froze. A teenage boy was walking slowly towards them. He had no candle, which must have been why the two sisters hadn't noticed his presence. Dove had seen the boy in the village before, and she was afraid that they would be caught. She and Ivy looked at each other and took off as quietly as possible, and flew a distance away. They watched as the boy stopped and looked around. He hadn't seen them. She let out an audible sigh of relief, and heard her sister do the same. Ivy purred, "Now that we have destroyed their food supply and spread the blood and spices around, they will start fighting." "Yes", Dove responded, "Now the fun will begin."
The boy stopped and swiveled his head. He was sure he had heard something coming from the field. Some sort of wings fluttering or something similar. He flicked his tail, and dismissed the sounds as a bird. He decided to check where the sound was anyways, as there had been birds that were ruining the crops, and he wanted to know the damage that had been inflicted. As he got to the plants he gasped. They felt completely rotten. He checked the plants, and almost all of them were completely unusable. He felt his heart drop. Would his home be able to survive the winter?
