"Ready girls?" I asked, my voice echoing through the two story detached house.
"Almost!" Savannah yelled as she applied another layer of gloss over her lips.

"Just one minute" Evelyn grunted as she forced her foot into her converses, clearly struggling because she hadn't loosened the laces.
Freya and Ella were already ready, they were watching American Horror Story Murder House on my laptop on the kitchen counter, munching down handfuls of popcorn.

"Alright, let's go girls" I patted Freya's shoulder, alerting the two of my presence before walking out of the massive kitchen.

"Oscar, were leaving now" I told my older brother who was a year and half older than me, as I ran a hand through my dark brown hair.

"Where are you going?" He asked, looking away from the large TV in front of him to face me.

"Me, Savannah, Evelyn, Ella and Freya are going to the carnival in town, we'll only be gone for a few hours" I replied, informing him of mine and my best friends plans for today.

"Okay, but put something over that top - it's breezy outside" He said as he pointed to my shirt.

I waved my black leather jacket that I held in my hands at him, before pulling it over me. He grinned as he walked towards me, "I love you, take care and stay safe okay."

I pulled him into a hug as I told him I loved him too.

"Oh and I probably won't be home by the time you come, I'm going to Eric's house. And oh - have fun girls!" He called, waving his hands at the 4 girls who scurried out of the massive black door, grinning and waving back. I gave him a smile before shutting the door.

I have to admit, Oscar was always protective, caring and played two important roles a girl needed in her life. A brother which he was, a father and a mother.(it's not as awkward as it sounds. Well, at least most of the time.)

My mum was only around until Oscar turned 18 a few months ago, that's when mum and dad named this house his and left since he was allowed to legally live alone with me.

And dad - he only provided us with money, he inherited wealth, millions and millions of it, becoming obsessed with it and developing a fear of loosing it, so day and night he would spend his time striving to achieve his goal.

One by one we walked over to my matte black car which was gifted to me for my 17th birthday.

I got into the drivers seat whilst Savannah hopped into the passengers seat and the other three shuffled in behind.

"I love your car Grace! Your so lucky your dad brought you this!" Savannah squealed and all the girls agreed as they admired the black interior - again.

"Thanks but it's been a month girls, let's get past this please." I begged, getting slightly annoyed with the fact that I had to hear this every time we got into my car.

"Alright alright let's go then" Freya exclaimed whilst Savannah fiddled
with the aux cord. A wide range of songs blasted from the speakers - setting the bass and mood, from pop, indie, country, hip hop to rock and punk.

Around half an hour later, I pulled into the parking lot for the carnival. Children held several balloons of different colours and shades, grinning as they stuffed their mouths with candy floss. There were many stalls set up as well as tents and all the energy and positive vibes bursting got me pumped up. I turned to face the girls who looked just as excited as me.

That was when I was able to see what they all wore and they all looked exceptionally beautiful. Savannah had straightened her hair and worn her black wedges and jeans, her green eyes glistening with excitement.
