SCARLETT'S POV-
I changed into a white tennis skirt with a blue shirt and put my nike blazers on.
"Girls you are going to be late to school if you don't hurry up." Mom yelled up the stairs.
"Ugh she's getting on my nerves, i'm trying to look good for Andy." Stacey groaned looking at me.
I sprayed my perfume and brushed through my curled hair. I sprayed a little hairspray and walked downstairs with my phone in my hand.
-
"Guys can we sit outside it's a nice day?" Stacey said looking at Andy who was playing soccer outside.
"No." "I mean i definitely could use some color so." "Yeah" everyone answered.
Kym and her friends walked up to us, "Is that tory burch? And Lululemon?"
"No it's from walmart." Nikki explained.
"She wasn't talking to you, but Yeah, i got it last week." I nodded.
"Yeah, my mom's trying to spend all of my dad's money before the divorce." Lydia responded.
"I'm pretty sure i saw Hailey Bieber and Gigi Hadid wearing the exact same one." Kym said walking away.
"Oh cool." Lydia said smiling.
"That was weird." Stacey said.
"I love and hate them at the same time." Nikki said as we started walking.
We all nodded.
We sat outside to eat.
"So get this, i heard Megan's doing her Mitzvah project next weekend, and she's handing out sunscreen at Coachella." Tara said.
"Guys we have to come up with something amazing. This is so much pressure. How long do you think it takes to become a social activist influencer on tiktok?" She asked Lydia.
"6 months?" She replied.
"Yeah too long." Stacey rolled her eyes.
"You know what, we just need to chill our brains. What are you dorks doing Saturday? My mom's out of town this weekend." Nikki spoke up.
"Why you gonna throw a party?" Tara asked.
"A dork party?" Stacey asked smiling.
They all giggled and Nikki looked upset.
"What if i did?" Nikki asked.
"Well I mean, my dad's out of town." Lydia spoke.
"Now you could actually throw a party. You could invite the whole 7th grade and not exclude anybody." Stacey looked at her.
"Oh come on, wouldn't it be fun to exclude people instead of being excluded for once?" Nikki questioned.
I caught myself looking at Andy Goldfarb, playing soccer. His hair moved so graciously. wow.
I could feel Stacey looking at me and then following my eyesight.
Out of no where Andy yelled, "HEADSUP!"
And then a soccer ball hit Stacey in the head.
She made a really weird noice that made me laugh while the girls helped her get up.
"Stacey are you okay?" Matteo ran over concerned.
"Have some water." Matteo handed her a red water bottle and she took it hesitantly.
"Are your legs okay Nikki?" Matteo asked looking at Nikki's legs.
"They're fine Matteo just relax." Nikki said annoyed.
I looked at Matteo and mouthed 'sorry' and he nodded back.
-
I walked into Rabbi Rebecca's class and sat down.
Andy walked up to Stacey to see if she was okay after this morning.
"One time I barfed from having a concussion at soccer. Did you barf?" he asked her plainly.
"No I didn't?" Stacey said confused.
"Tight." He said walking away and shooting me a small smile.
"All right Shabbat Shalom! How's everyone feeling? We having the times of our lives right now? You guys start your Mitzvah projects yet?" Rabbi Rebecca asked looking around the class.
Everyone answered 'no' except Nikki who answered 'yes.'
"No? It's the most important part of this whole thing. It's when you do something menschie for your community, for your society at large. What you guys don't care about society at large?" She asked.
Everyone answered 'no' but Nikki answered 'yeah'
"All right how about we pick up with were we left off, with our old buddy David. Remember him? Homeboy was about to get his groove on with the foxy Bathsheba even though she was married to someone else. What a snake David is! You a snake Aaron?" She asked walking over to Aaron.
He looked up confused, "N-no."
"You ever pull something like that, Aaron? Cheat on your wife?" Rabbi Rebecca asked.
"M-Me?" Aaron looked around.
"Dude, I'm messing around with you! Relax! You're sweating, my goodness! You're not a snake Aaron, you're awesome! Look at that arm hair and mustache coming in strong. Baruch HaShem, Aaron let's go!" She said dabbing him up.
-
"So I told the sales lady "I'll take one in each color." And she said "Are you getting a divorce?" And I said "How'd you guess?!" Lydia's mom laughed while driving us.
"That's really funny mom. Hey can you let me bring over some people on Saturday?" Lydia asked.
"Oh sure! Like a playdate?" Lydia's mom asked.
"A playdate? Mom i'm 13. Please don't call it a playdate." Lydia rolled her eyes.
Dad called Stacey but I zoned out thinking about Andy.
Then, Lydia got a message from Kym. Inviting her and me to go hang out with her and her friends. She asked if she could bring Stacey and she agreed.
She ended up stopping at our house first, and i decided i didn't want to go.
"Sorry I'm just not feeling it." I said waving bye to the girls.
They drove off as i walked into the house and went up to my room. I put my airpods in and blared my music.
-
About 2 hours later, Stacey was back at the house and she couldn't stop crying and trash talking Andy.
-
We headed to Lydia's party and saw bikes at the entrance of her house.
"Okay, we are going to walk in, you apologize to Lydia and then everything's okay." I nodded while talking to Stacey.
She nodded back and we walked in. We walked over to where Lydia and Andy were.
That's when we both saw Andy slowly pull Lydia into a kiss.
I felt something break, but i couldn't show any emotion or Stacey would be more upset.
"Oh my god." Stacey said her voice cracking.
I looked at her then at Lydia.
"Oh my god." Lydia said pulling away to see us standing there looking at her.
Stacey quickly ran off and Lydia ran after her.
"Yo welcome to the party." Andy said smiling at me.
"Shut up you douchebag." I scoffed looking at him and he immediately dropped the smile.
