He supposes now he knows where the unfamiliar familiarity came from.

It came naturally.

Seungmin felt familiar, because technically to his mind, his soulmate mind as he likes to affectionately call it, was familiar to Seungmin's. So, yes of course.

That's why Hyunjin felt so comfortable with Seungmin.

When he uttered that one small, two lettered word, Hyunjin's mind went into a weird combo of haywire static. He physically felt it all slowing down into the straight one pitched noise in the back of his head and his eyes saw Seungmin piece it together too.

Good god.

Good fucking god.

Soulmate, he told his mind to shut up in between somewhere of that chant, soulmate soulmate soulmate, it wouldn't stop providing that one word. Tedious, continuous, repeating, just reminding him. Again and again, he had his soulmate in his arms, dancing with him, teasing him, indulging him, kissing him, offering his body to him, even if it was for a night.

For him.

All for him.

Not even waiting to make sure what exactly he was thinking, or what Seungmin himself was thinking, he surged forward, capturing those peach coloured lips that now had a possessive glint to them.

And then withdrew again with just as much speed.

"I am- i- Sorry, I shouldn't have, I am-"

Seungmin doesn't like to dwindle as he did earlier. Before he could even think about putting some distance between them, he was pulled back with such force that a small sound of surprise escaped him.

And instead of doing anything else like he had expected of the other, Kim Seungmin, his soulmate (!!!), just enveloped him in a large, warm, bone-crushing bear hug. Each breath, each puff of air, each broken sound that he tried to keep to himself, resonated against his ears and then throughout his body. His hands instinctively tightened around his waist, holding him closer to his body, even tiptoeing to be able to pull him even closer, flush against himself; as if, if he let go, he would be awake in his own room, drenched in sweat, crying about the cruel nightmare.

"That's a huge fucking curveball life threw at us, huh. After such a long time that too."

He thought it was unfair.

Being so close, yet so far. All those moments of the name 'Seungmin' being mentioned by his junior, leaving his heart jumping in his ribcage, thumping and thudding loudly, it knew. His senses somehow knew and, still.

Still their lives were always parallel up until today, not once intersecting.

"Sorry."

"The hell- No, why are you sorry? Look at me, oh Hyunjin." He knew the tears were gonna come even before the waterworks got to work in his eyes. When Seungmin tried to make him look at him, Hyunjin couldn't help but just whine and bury his face even more into the crook of his neck.

Vanilla with a slight dash of sweat and alcohol from the club clouded his senses and Hyunjin, like a petulant baby refused to loosen his hold on Seungmin's dress shirt, making wet chuckles fall from the other's lips. "Sweetheart we can't talk if you keep avoiding my eyes."

His protests were muffled in Seungmin's shoulder. "Hyune, I can't hear you, you need to speak up." At that, he could only manage hooking his chin on the same spot, and looking beyond the view from the window, his heart stuttering at the unsuspected nickname.

"I am gonna look weird."

Seungmin's incredulity dripped into his voice. "Weird? Hyunjin, trust me if you look weird right now because you're crying, then I look worse than that. And, I mean, have you seen yourself? I bet you're even pulling that look off."

That made him snort.

"Right, sure."

Reluctantly, Hyunjin let his hold loose slowly. Seungmin's hands ran up and down his arms, in a way warming them both up, in a way releasing the tension from both of their bodies. "Ready? Can I draw back?" He couldn't help but melt inside at the thoughtfulness that this man somehow possessed.

"Of course. You?"

The sound of his laugh filtered through the room.

"It's just a talk. We'll be fine."

Just a talk.

A talk with his soulmate; His fated. That took a hell lot of time, didn't it?

5 fucking years, out of which, he's spend 3 knowing Jeongin. All of the times he's heard Seungmin's name, ignoring that weird, small momentary flutter in his chest, it all made sense as to why that happened. Their souls had somehow, by some divine intervention, already recognised each other, even by a mere mention of their names.

"You know, I've always heard about you. From Jeongin. But I- I never really thought of it, you know. I didn't really put too much thought in it. That- That maybe I could just, you know, mention you somewhere, or sometime in between or that I should feel like I need to meet you, it just- It- It didn't occur to me-"

Seungmin shushed him.

"Hyunjin-ah. This is no matter of our time, is it? Has it really ever been? Lemme tell you, I-," He paused with a small puff of laugh. "I've been waiting for my sou- You, Hyunjin, I've been waiting for you for the past 10 years, sweetheart. I- I've waited long enough, and even if we wouldn't have met like this, like tonight, I probably would've waited longer."

His earnest eyes stared right back at him, and he immediately felt at ease."So, please. Please don't think this is your fault, for not inquiring about me. I have been nothing but an unfamiliar incomer in your conversations, that would've never been enough for our connection to be fruiting."

"Can I kiss you?"

Is this how it is supposed to be? To have someone; to hold on to someone's hands when they're, and by an extension you are too, shaking? When you know you're lost, is it so relieving to know that your other half is also probably just as lost as you are, but it's okay, it's okay because they're supposed to be your other half!

He knows now.

Seungmin laughed, not rebutting that question. Request? Maybe, a request, but he didn't deny it. He just shook his head, bringing his open, clammy palm to the side of his face. "We can talk tomorrow maybe, and from now on, only you angel. That is if you wanna stay for the night. Would you mind?"

Hyunjin knows now.

Author's note:

Hello yes hi.

Some of you might think that I am cruel for ending the story on this note, but okay here's the thing. I didn't want to push it far and then end up making it a complex plotline with added characters and parallel storylines. This was anyways meant to be a one shot, but hey I made it into a chaptered fic.

So, yeah I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it! Votes and comments are looked forward to and yeah, well happy reading!
