"Do you really think this is easy for me?" Cheia shouted at Abraxas with force. "You didn't even let me in on that decision and now the burden is on me. Do you really think it's going to be that easy for me?"
Abraxas was hesitant to speak because he didn't think that she would react like this. He didn't think that this could actually happen between the two of them. He. Didn't. Think.
Cheia had tears falling from her eyes before she said, "I'm trying over here, Brax. But you're making it so much harder!"
"What else do you want me to do?!" Abraxas was the one shouting. "It was one mistake, Cheia! Why can't you move on?!"
Yes, indeed it was one mistake. But that one mistake broke her heart and lose the trust she was holding on for him. After all those years stuck in this relationship, never had she imagined a conflict like this could happen and they would be stuck in the past because of it.
After Cheia found out what Abraxas did, in that moment, she wanted to die. She wanted to leap off a cliff. But she holds on no matter how much she wants to let go. What Abraxas did was, yes, one mistake, but that one measly mistake could mean an entire breakdown for her. That one measly mistake made her think about everything; every fight, every argument, and every trauma that Cheia experienced, she's brought it with her from the start.
She doesn't want to let go even if that's what she really needs.
Abraxas moved closer, placing his hands on her shoulders, "When can this be over? Please, I don't want us to fight anymore."
"When will it ever be over, Brax? When?" she said hoarsely, her voice almost breaking each note. "I'm sorry if I can't let go of our past, but it still hurts. Everything still hurts from that moment that happened 2 years ago. I'm sorry, I just can't let that go."
He wiped her tear away with his thumb and he closed the distance between them, hugging her close. "I'm sorry I did it in the first place. You shouldn't have to live with that feeling, it was my fault."
"Then you shouldn't have done it."
Abraxas hugged her tighter and held her close, not wanting to let her go. He was only starting to realize how things were between the two of them. He believed in the first place that they were fine knowing that she probably wasn't. And he couldn't believe he let that happen. He let that pain drown in her until she could no longer breathe.
Cheia was her girl, and he couldn't even comprehend why he did that to her. Why he cheated.
The conflict is rising between them even though it was only one thing. But as he knew what she was exactly feeling that one thing made her fall apart and break down all her walls. That one thing made it hard for her to breathe.

A few weeks have passed and so far things were going well between the two of them. Abraxas was being more genuine after their last fight. He was being more consistent with what kind of love he was showing. Cheia was starting to appreciate the things he was doing for her, but she's still getting the feeling that the problem between them will keep repeating like a cycle that never stops. An infinite loop of arguing, mistrust, and trying to fix things.
Abraxas was supposed to meet up with his friends, they had a plan to go out to the mall and shop for something for their girlfriends for the upcoming Love Hearts Celebration at their school.
