The museum's grandeur loomed behind Sohee as she stepped out into the open garden, the weight of unspoken thoughts heavy on her mind."What does he think of himself? I came here to see him and..." Her words trailed off as her attention shifted. Unexpected raindrops began to patter against her skin. Sohee frowned, her eyes narrowing at the gray sky. "What an odd day to rain. They said nothing about it in the weather forecast today."
Suddenly, a memory stirred within her. She recalled the words she had read on Jimin's profile bio on the E-Heart app - 'Likes to drink tea on a calm rainy weekend.'
As she turned around, her heart stopped for a second. There he was, Jimin, standing before her with a tea tray in hand. Their eyes locked in an unspoken understanding. "Did you just say you came here to see me?" Jimin inquired, his voice carrying a note of surprise.
"Aniyo!... Ani!... to see 'HER'... My friend Eunji," Sohee replied instantly. "Why would I come to see you. I had no idea you work here."
Jimin bowed like a gentleman. "Ah! I must've misunderstood. Joesonghamnida (I'm sorry.)" His expression softened as he leaned forward. "But didn't you read the curator's name on the tickets?"
Sohee blinked her eyes twice at Jimin. "Aniyo! Why everyone keep asking me that. I don't care about the artist. I only care about the art."
"Jinja? (Really?) Is that why you were yawning when I showed you my stamp collection."
"I...I... care more about paintings," snapped Sohee.
"So, which painting -"
Before Jimin could say anything, Sohee quickly changed the topic. "Look at the rain? Waaaa! Pretty isn't it." Jimin couldn't help but smile.
Curiosity stirred in Sohee as she watched Jimin with a tea tray. "Where are you taking this?" she asked, her eyes tracing the elegant cups and the steam wafting from the teapot.
"I like drinking tea when"
"It rains!" Sohee finished his sentence, a touch of elevation in her voice. It was a shared sentiment, an unexpected connection.
It was not wrong to say that the corners of his ears adopted a slight red hue."Do you want to join? Or maybe not. It must be too boring," he offered, unsure of what Sohee would say.
A smile tugged at the corners of Sohee's lips. "Is that Jasmine tea?" she asked, smelling the aroma that has occupied her nose.
Jimin's gaze met hers, and he nodded with a hint of amusement. "Yes. You're right. You like it."
"I do! You mind if I join?" Sohee replied as she accepted the invitation.
With a warm smile, Jimin gestured towards a hidden place in the garden. "Let's sit first! There's a nice gazebo at the back."
Sohee nodded eagerly, her heartbeat growing with each step they took towards the sheltered gazebo. What is going on? she thought. Why I said yes to have tea with him?
They stood by the entrance of the beautiful gazebo. Jimin, with a warm smile, extended his hand towards Sohee as he balanced the tea tray in other hand. "Sohee-shi. You can sit here," he said, his voice filled with genuine kindness. With a graceful gesture, he placed the ornate tea tray on the elegantly carved table and poured fragrant tea into delicate porcelain cups.
They sipped their tea, the steam rising from the cups mixing with the cool mist of the rain. The gazebo provided a perfect shelter, allowing them to relish the tea and each other's company amidst the serene beauty of the garden, untouched by the drizzling rain outside.
