I looked at my new house. Cold. It felt cold, unwelcoming and just miserable.

"I'm sorry Ava." My mother said to me.

"It's not your fault, remember?" I replied.

"Let's not talk about it. Go help your sister." She smiled and walked into our new house.

Moving across the Atlantic Ocean wasn't really what I expected to happen, but my mum needed this. This is where I'm originally from, but it just felt so cold here in England. I wanted to be back in America with my friends and the little family I had left.

"Ava! Are you going to help me carry these boxes?" My sister Lili shouted at me.

Lili doesn't remember England, we moved right after she was born. I was 4 at the time so I guess I don't ether. We moved cause there was nothing left here for us and my parents made a business out there.
"Coming!" I helped my sister unpack.

After helping my sister unpack and decorating my new room I took the chance to go and see what England had to offer me.

"I'm gonna go for a walk, I'll be back in half an hour!" I shouted, hoping someone heard me.

There was a park just across the road from our house, it was quite big and it was almost empty. Well not many people go to the park in freezing cold weather. I wasn't exactly dressed for it too.

I kept walking around until I spotted a gang of boys who looked around my age maybe even older. I attempted to walk past them but I stepped on a coke can grabbing the three boys attention. They were sitting, one standing, around a table. All of them smoking. They all gave me a glare while I froze not knowing what to do. The one standing who was tall, with curly hair and an amazing jaw laughed. What was he laughing about? Fuck. Did I have something on my face?

All the other boys looked just as confused as I was but that didn't stop them from laughing too. So there I was standing awkwardly while all these unbelievably good-looking boys were laughing at me. Yep England had nothing for me.

I quickly walked off in a speed I didn't even know I had.

I turned the corner and I realized I was breathing heavy. I don't even know these boys why was I so scared?

I looked at my watch, time had gone by fast I've been here for almost an hour and I also had five miss calls from my mum. Shit. My mum has always been so paranoid.

I quickly walk home preparing for my mothers lecture and shouts.

I open the door to see my mum looking worried and my sister comforting her.

"Hey! I'm home." I said almost silently.

"Where have you been? I've been worried sick!" My mum stood up nearly falling.

"I went to the park across the road?"

"Without even telling anyone? Anything could've happened to you Ava!" She kept going on but I stopped listening.

"I'm sorry ok next time I'll tell someone! The park was shitty anyway! I hate it here!" And with that I stormed upstairs. I know it was immature but it was true. I'm surprised she didn't yell for swearing.

I also have school tomorrow, which I'm not looking forward to at all. I took this time to pick out an outfit; you know first impression and all that.

I got into my cold bed, not really expecting any sleep. Tomorrow was going to be hell.

-

After a horrible nights sleep I knew I had to get up to shower. I really do not want to go to school. What if no one likes me? I'm probably thinking too much.

I put on basic makeup and left my hair, I ended up wearing a stripy top and black cut jeans with some worn out converse. Hopefully I don't stand out.

I went downstairs to see my sister already dressed hair perfect and she doesn't even wear makeup. Why does she have to be the perfect child?

Breakfast was already laid out but I wasn't feeling it so I took a slice of toast and checked up on social media. It hurt to see all my friends at a party last night while I was stuck in this shithole. I scrolled upon a picture of my ex boyfriend with arm around a girl. It hurt more than it should. We broke up for obvious reasons.

"Come on its time to go!"

I jumped out of my seat and made my way to the door. I wasn't able to drive yet so that meant my mum had to drive us today, which also meant we would have to walk the rest of the year or until I can drive.

My new school looked dead, nothing like back home where it at least looked lively.

Everyone just looked fed up. Oh god. My sister was lucky she didn't start school till next week. I had no idea where to go or who to talk to. I looked for someone to ask. There was a boy walking my way in black jeans and a white top and shit was that the boy who was at the park? Fuck! He walked right past me with a smirk. Who even is he?

I walked up to a girl who looked around my age, "Hey, I'm Ava and I'm um new here do you know where I could go see the principle or office? to get a schedule or something?"

She smiled and laughed "Are you american or something?" I gave her a light laugh "Actually I just moved from there but I'm originally from here."

She looked surprised. She had reddish, strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. And was extremely pretty.

"Shit sorry." she gave me a weird smile. "I'm Emily, and I'll take you to reception they'll sort you out there. Nice bag by the way love it!" She was nice and hopefully I could make a friend out of her.
