Chapter 1 | The Day I Found the Coven

Y/N's Mind and POV: 

 I am running away from my toxic family after I found out some.. not so great things about myself. I'm a grimwalker of my sister, S/N.

 I just can't freaking believe it! They loved her so much that I HAVE to be her.

 She died being caught by the Emperor's Coven for "unknown" reasons. 

As I am a grimwalker. People would call me that STUPID title: 

"Half-A-Witch Y/N" All cause I CAN'T DO MAGIC, UGH!

 I want to join that coven now. To prove my family I'm NOT my sister!

 I've seen that coven before, if only I can find-

Y/N: "HOLY SH^T! I FOUND IT!" I practically screamed at the top of my lungs, barely being able to contain my happiness.

Some weird red demon named "Kikimora" was handing flyers out, I zoomed past everyone.

"Hey! Kikimora girl! Could I maybe try out?" 

Kikimora glared at me in annoyance

"Maybe don't rush past people, but I appreciate your enthusiasm to join the coven, not a lot of people have that. So I'll give you a free pass" Kikimora said to me, sounding surprised someone would want to join the coven so enthusiastically. 

When she says that, I look back at the line of angsty teens arguing with their parents about how "they don't wanna work for the coven" 

"Their loss!" I say, very enthusiastically as I walk in the castle.

As I walk in, I see a decent looking line of some people, In front of Belos. Looking terrified

"Hello, your majesty. I am Y/N L/N. I'm trying out for the Silver Guard or the Bronze Guard" I give a calm smile to him, 

but when he starts talking. I finally get the jitters.

Belos: "Hello Boiling Isles, your emperor speaking. As you may know, I have opened up 2 new role opportunities for the Emperor's Coven. I will go over them shortly."

I listened to the emperor in curiosity of the 2 new roles, even though I already know its the Silver Guard and the Bronze Guard, I never knew what they do. I'm assuming its the 3rd and 4th in command, because the Golden Guard is 2nd in command. Ruling over everyone else except for Belos. 

Belos: "I will be going over the Silver Guard role first. So, The Silver Guard will be The Golden Guard's sidekick in missions. Helping the Golden Guard, and learning from the Golden Guard. The Bronze Guard will be mainly going on solo missions, but more in defense of the castle. Like a security guard of the castle. The castle has been longing for more of those. We will commence a tryout for both roles when everyone is ready. You may take an hour to train before the tryouts."

TRAINING SEGMENT!

I am working out, doing pushups. I don't feel very confident I'm going to get a role, but we'll see. 

I put on some boxing gloves and beat some dummies of wild witches. fake blood squirt out of them. They are some pretty realistic dummies. I start to sweat.  "This is so hard." I sigh in tiredness, but I must keep going to be able to get second in command to the Golden Guard. But my chances seem to plummet near the absolute zero. As I observe everyone else and start to doubt myself. 

Time was going by so fast, but they didn't even warn us when tryouts were starting! They just sent out the one and only Golden Guard to spot us while we were working out and trying out.

Once he got to me, I was trying my all. He was staring in blankness through that mask. Very formally too. once tryouts were over. Me and the other participants waited very nervously for the results. Some of us jittering nervously.

The Golden Guard was calling out the results.

Golden Guard: "Alright so, the Bronze Guard will be awarded to... "N/N!" 

N/N, whoever that was stood up and got their uniform

Golden Guard: "Alright, the Silver Guard in this room hasn't shown a lot of magic. But lots of perseverance and dedication. It will be awarded to...."

I wait being extremely scared.

Golden Guard: "Y/N L/N!"

I walk up beside the Golden Guard, feeling confident but scared to be in front such a large crowd of people.
